Tasting at Višnja 666’s place. Shared with Goran, Višnja and Marko. Thanks Višnja for bringing this from Prague! 0.5 l bottle. Golden, tiny head. Hay, dry grass, industrial feeling. Light sweet. Light to medium body, medium carbonation, light finish, kinda refreshing. No complexity. Not that bad.

(draught) clear golden colour with a frothy white head. aroma of floral hops and some light diacetyl, with a hint of vanilla, some straw and talcum powder. flavour is mostly straw, some pale malts and floral hops, with some more butter and a hint of green apple in the semi-dry chalky finish. light- to medium-bodied with average carbonation. kind of grows on you after a couple days ...

Thanks Višnja & Goran! Shared with Hrabren and them. Paaale golden body with a tiny white head. Skunky aroma (surprise surprise), grainy, light herbal and yeasty touches. Liiight, extremely light bready, mildly oily taste, vaguely herbal.Damn watery, dry, no aftertaste. Eh, too damn light even for a desítka. Though I’m glad I’ve finally tried this.

Nice malted hop aroma, Golden appearance, light gas in the mouth with a nice typically Czech bite. Thumbs up from me ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Simple, easy to drink lager. Slightly malty with not much in the way of hops. Refreshing.

UPDATED: AUG 18, 2016 Drank in astronomical quantities during Brutal Assault Festival 2016. As you can expect, this is a very regular and unsurprising one. Still pleasant, but lacks any aftertaste, alcohol level and such. Malty, refreshing, but you can?t go much far with this one. Served cold, this is still a cool beer for any hot afternoon. APPROVED BY TAVERNY?S BLACK METAL CREW!

Juotu tölkistä, joten vaikuttanee pisteisiin negatiivisesti. Maltainen tuoksu, maku peruslagermainen, viljainen ja hieman metallinen kokonaisuus. Ei erikoinen.

from a bottle From the git-go, you know it is a Czech "desitku" (10 degree rating, using the Balling method to measure specific gravity) and that almost always tells the story right there. To wit, I had a conversation with the brand manager of another mass market Czech desitku and he said, mostly correctly, that if you put several desitkus in unmarked glasses you wouldn´t be able to pick them out brand by brand. With rare exceptions beers of this class are not distinctive. That said, this Budvar is a pleasant example of the genre, but it will never be a world beater--nor is it designed to be one.
