2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 Metalchopz (1427) - Quebec, CANADA - NOV 2, 2011
Originally rated January 2006. Pours a golden colour with some copper in it. The fizzy white head has good retention and lace. Quite foamy and wavy, looks like mountains. Medium carbonation. Alcohol is really present in the nose, with some grain malt and hop bitterness. Oily mouthfeel. The taste is not bad though, but light (like all of their other brews so far). Slightly bitter, slightly dry, with a half chemical aftertaste and some metal. Not as bad as it sounds, but would rather try the cask version of this brew, at 4.8% ABV.

30cl Bottle at In de Wildeman. This must be an aged example, because it’s not in production anymore, and lacks a body label. So no BB date. Clear amber colour, off white head. Aroma of thick sweet malts, toffee, a bit of fruits. Flavour is sweet, malty, toasted malts, caramel/toffee, a light vegetable note, a bit grassy and sweet finish. Medium bodied. Not so bad, but nothing like a German Alt.

smell of ash and oats with apple juice. Tastes a little like apple juice too with a slightly hoppy taste.
