COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Toll! 14/13/15/14

UPDATED: NOV 2, 2005 re-rate:At first the aroma had some skunky hop in it but this disappears. Instead it turns to caramel and a hint of varnish. Ruby color, beige head, good lace. Sweet, light bitter, butterscotch all over, alcohol well present. Fruity in the start but this disappears. Long lasting, bitter and warming finish. Feb 25, 2002, 4.2: This bock was voted Best Dutch Bock last year and I guess they were right! Light roasted and butterscotch aroma. Dark ruby red, light brown large creamy head, good lacing. Very smooth, sweet, roasted and moderate full. Long roasted and hops bitter finish.

Karmelowy słd, prawie bez chmielu, zarwno w smaku jak i aromacie. Piana dość wytrzymała ale słaba, nie za wielka. Zdecydowanie słodowe

UPDATED: NOV 22, 2009 Tap at de paas, the hague. Nice dark bitter bock, long finish, bitter compared to a lot of other (dutch) bocks. Nice. 21-11-2009 Also on bottle (label says herfstbok) , nice bitter bock with dark brown color and small head. Aroma is malty, caramel. Good finish

bottle, labelled Herfstbok, kidnly donated by Bierkoning - Merci! Clear chestnut-brown colour, large, creamy, off-white head. Sweetish-hoppy nose. Bitter sweet, lots of malt and roasetd malts, caramel with some citric hops. A delicious beer - lovely.

After the beer was served in the glass there was found a lasting quantity wall adhesive white foam collar which was fine and even of structure. The beer also contained not much carbonic acid in the glass. The beer has a clear ruby color and a sweet taste. The after tast of the beer is hoppy bitter with a roasted malty touch. This beer smells light caramally.

Countbeer (4647) - Best of E-Town mit ein Brauhaus, NETHERLANDS - DEC 5, 2010
Bottle: Budels Herfstbock: Light brown foamy head on top of an amber brown colored beer. Smell toasted malts, dark spices, caramel. Taste is good drinkable with a nice bitter touch to it. Not sweet at all, just a nice bittering: toasted malts, caramel, dark fruits and spices. Soft on the tongue, mid body.

(Drank this draught under the designation V.S.O.B. 2002 - whatever that stands for) Dark chestnut, opaque; thcik cream-coloured head. hoppy, drak malts, candi sugar and molasses in the nose. taste gives first an upcoming bitter-hop flavour. Then butterscotch intervenes. Damn. I somehow get a feeling/flavour of pure de marrons (chestnut flour cream). medium to heavy bodied. Nice, sweet-syrupy but agreable beer. Shame about the diacetyl.
