Karmelowy słód, prawie bez chmielu, zarówno w smaku jak i aromacie. Piana dość wytrzymała ale słaba, nie za wielka. Zdecydowanie słodowe
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 jbrus (4992) - Delft, NETHERLANDS - FEB 25, 2002
UPDATED: NOV 2, 2005 re-rate:At first the aroma had some skunky hop in it but this disappears. Instead it turns to caramel and a hint of varnish. Ruby color, beige head, good lace. Sweet, light bitter, butterscotch all over, alcohol well present. Fruity in the start but this disappears. Long lasting, bitter and warming finish. Feb 25, 2002, 4.2: This bock was voted ’Best Dutch Bock’ last year and I guess they were right! Light roasted and butterscotch aroma. Dark ruby red, light brown large creamy head, good lacing. Very smooth, sweet, roasted and moderate full. Long roasted and hops bitter finish.

After the beer was served in the glass there was found a lasting quantity wall adhesive white foam collar which was fine and even of structure. The beer also contained not much carbonic acid in the glass. The beer has a clear ruby color and a sweet taste. The after tast of the beer is hoppy bitter with a roasted malty touch. This beer smells light caramally.

Bottle: Budels Herfstbock:
Light brown foamy head on top of an amber brown colored beer.
Smell toasted malts, dark spices, caramel.
Taste is good drinkable with a nice bitter touch to it.
Not sweet at all, just a nice bittering: toasted malts, caramel, dark fruits and spices. Soft on the tongue, mid body.

(Drank this draught under the designation V.S.O.B. 2002 - whatever that stands for) Dark chestnut, opaque; thcik cream-coloured head. hoppy, drak malts, candi sugar and molasses in the nose. taste gives first an upcoming bitter-hop flavour. Then butterscotch intervenes. Damn. I somehow get a feeling/flavour of purée de marrons (chestnut flour cream). medium to heavy bodied. Nice, sweet-syrupy but agreable beer. Shame about the diacetyl.
