2.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Tasted in Toronto. Obtained from LCBO as part of seasonal import pack. Tasted in trappist glass. Appearance is deep brown / copper with an initial tan / cream coloured head. Head quickly dissapates in the glass. Aroma is of malt, caramel, toffee. Heavy on the sweet side. Slight hint of alcohol also. The flavour is a bit of a let down as compared with the aroma. Fairly thin mouthfeel, bitter upfront taste with a thin cheap sickly sweet finish.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
330ml brown bottle. Reddish brown. Head retention rather poor, leaves a thin white layer on top of the beer. Nice aroma, dark malts, chocolate and raisins. Chocolately, caramel, malty taste. A bit light in body, would have liked a bit more mouthfeel.

Look typical of Belgian Strong Ales. Creamy white head, neat brownish amber. Substantial malt aroma, sweets, pleasant nose. Medium dark malts and toffee. Alcohol is well blended.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
nice presentation like a abbeybeer, butit's really an ambercoloured beer.
It's to sweet for me in the beginning, but the aftertaste is dry, and continious with mainly malts and herby yeastflavours and some hidden hopps. The comments about the port aroma's i do support.
