Brown-red creamy body, small head. Complex taste. Fruity & spicy. Raisins, dark fruit, caramel, roasted and smoked wood, yeast (floating). Distinctive but pleasant alcohol taste. Very little sour and bitter. Dry and fruity lightly bitter and full aftertaste. Medium-high carbonated.

UPDATED: NOV 25, 2011 Dark-red fruity collor. Smell of sweet and bitter.
As long as I remember, this is one of my favorites. Licht bitterness, abbey-style beer but much sweeter. It is a pitty that it is also a bit watery. Because it also has this typical strong taste in the background.
Do no try this one with heavy food, otherwise the taste is too subtle.

300 ml bottle, poured into a tulip glass. ABV 6.5%
Three fingers of off-white, sopay head, with very good retention, especially after it loses its initial half size. Heavy lacing left behind. Colour of the beer itself is a very dark mohogany brown. Impressive.
Sweet aroma of roasted malts and lots of caramel and at the same time a bit sour, of stewed dark fruits.
Taste is sweet at first and fruity. Lots of the roasted malts here too, along with fruits, becomes a very pleasant light bitterness, with delicious choclate notes.
Full body, as much carbonation as needed and sort of sticky on the palate.
Pleasantly surprised with this one, a truly delicious beer, although I am sure many will find it too sweet.

Bottle. Malty aroma. Very dark brown colour. Very small, light brown head. Swet, malty flavour, very chocolaty. Thick mouthfeel and low carbonation. The bitterness reminds me of bitter chocolate.

Nice light brown foamy head.
Clear brown color.
Smell is a very good mix of brown sugar, crisped and toasted malts, hints of hops, dark fruit (prunes, raisin) and spices.
Taste is soft on the tongue but full taste of sugars, malts, fruits, roasted ingredients.
Just slightly bitter, more sweet than bitter. Hints of oatmeal and iron. Nicely balanced.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottled. This is, by a country mile, the best Budels beer I’ve had. Now that wouldn’t be difficult, but this is a really good drop. An amber coloured beer with no head. The aroma is nutty and has really good caramel and chocolate notes. The taste is malty sweet with more good caramel and berry fruit notes. Very tasty and a good body.

interesting aroma that’s strong and deep. Red, coppertone look.
Taste lingers for a while, wheat bread with butter and caramel. Alcohol can be felt all the way down the belly.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
A nice easy-drinking Belgian ale out of the Netherlands. Clear tawny brown capped with a thick cap of tight bubbles. Good head retention and a dab of lace make for an attractive package. Vinous aroma shows raisins soaked in port, plus peppery shiraz and bubblegum. Quite a phenolic nose for a 6.5% abv ale - hint of paint stripper in there. Soft carbonation complements a medium body. Flavours include raisins, cloves and chocolate-coated toffee before a warming rush of alcohol. Bitter enough in the swallow to balance those sweet chewy flavours.
