UPDATED: OCT 8, 2007 Dry not as good as the day of Kloshes in Koln but if I could get this locally I would revisit. Had this on my trip to the Netherlands. Page 88 of Michael Jackson’s Great Beer Guide and only 447 beers for me to go to complete the book.

UPDATED: FEB 21, 2007 Bottled at Monk’s Café, Stockholm. Clear golden, minimal head. Aroma of stale boiled vegetables that slowly fades to grass as the beer warms. Sweet with clean, hard moutfeel wit notes of metal, butter and paper. Lightly salty finish with vague bitterness. Could sadly have been mistaken for a Grolsch, at least before it warms up and reveals some grassy hops.

Bottle (greetings from bierkoning): Clear, golden coloured, quickly vanishing foamy layer; grainy-bready nose with a light alcoholic touch; moderate sweet, slightly sourish flavour, medium bodied, but empty MF ; a bit of alcohol in the sweet-grainy finish. Not a really necessary brew...........

Dark yellow colored, vanishing white head. Honey, hops and crispy fruits in aroma. Medium bodied. Flavor is also fine with fruits, honey and mild caramel, aftertaste has mild hops with sweetness.

(Draught.) Clear gold color, with tiny white head. Nicely fruity and somewhat grassy hop aroma. Surprisingly tasty, lightly alcoholic-sweet flavor of fruity hops, orange rind, a hint of yeast and spices. Somewhat bitter but fruity aftertaste. Medium body, moderate carbonation. Slightly sticky mouthfeel. Altogether a surprisingly delicious pale ale, especially considering its boring appearence.

Bottled. Golden colour, mediumsized white head. Aroma fruity and hoppy with diacetylic hints. Flavour the same. Quite one-dimensional though, so no bonus points for anything.

Golden pour, unfiltered looking, slightly hazy. nice head. Smells watery. Bit of grain, but not much else. Taste is pretty watery as well. A bit of hoppy bitterness, grassy. Not that great at all. Clean dry finish. Easy drinking.

(Bottled) Paleish golden with a small head. Grainy-malty, slightly diacetylic aroma with hints of alcohol. Honeyish, mildly fruity, reasonably malty flavor with some but not too much alcohol. Light to medium-bodied, slicky and quite neutral palate with low carbonation. A quite plain, non-irritating bock with little character. Reasonably balanced and drinkable as such, though.
