1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Bottle Budels Organic Lager - No head and a rubbish looking beer. Taste and aroma are caramel and floural/herbal hops.

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Almost bright gold body with a very short lasting white head. Fruity citrus aroma. Fairly thin body, some bitterness a little dull but thank god it is Bio.

2.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Pale gold with a white head. Grainy, grassy aroma. Some malt in the taste, which was watery but quite refreshing. Some bitterness.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
A Mes rate:
Ok it’s a lager... I don’t like lager... let’s get it over with.
33cl bottle from "Wine of Course". Labelled as "Organic Lager". Malty nose with pears and soap. Flavour is actually ok. Reasonably well balanced, clear hits of malt and hops and then plenty of biscuit. Sugar hint at the finish. Thin mouthfeel (well... DUH!) yadda yadda yadda

2.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 5/20
Bottle from Tesco. A very pale yellow. Aroma is grainy straw and grass. To taste a rather lifeless and thin lager with lots of grainy character, quite eggy and grassy. Some rotten vegetable matter in there. Reminds me of a cheap German pils. Very poor.

2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
UPDATED: SEP 27, 2007 Bit of a rusty cabbage aroma. Must be the hops. Thin, headless, unpleasantly soapy pils with a metallic finish and passing resemblance to beer. (Re-rate) Can’t believe I’ve been duped into buying this again, labelled ’Budels Lager Beer’. Sugary aroma with a hints of fart and rusty tin. Flavour that of burnt paper, coins. Drinkable, but still a stinker. Nice lacing, though.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
UPDATED: JAN 18, 2010 On tap (keg) at The Salamander, Bath, April 2006 as Bath Organic Lager. Wasn’t really expecting too much and I felt a little uneasy about ordering a keg lager (which I hadn’t tried) in preference to Bath cask ales (which I had tried before). Actually, it was far better than I expected. Pale yellow colour. Not too fizzy. Light grassy aroma. Clean and fresh (although perhaps a touch sweet) on the palate, with some hop bite. No great depth of flavour here but went down quite nicely.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 8/20
Seems to have no smell at all. Colour is straw with no head. Flavour is a redeemer - dry and bitter but with some sweet notes of soft fruits. Finish is long and bitter. Unfortunately, for all it’s high-mindedness and promise, this beer is let down by it’s horrible, flat appearance and mouthfeel. This is not what a lager should be.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottled. A lagerish grassy aroma to this straw golden coloured beer with a little white head and some pleasant lacing. The taste is lagerish with some hop/malt balance. It is clean but really quite dull with no outstanding features.
