2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Not a bad effort by Budweiser, and I'll take this over any of their others. Still, aftertaste is a bit stale and lingers. Okay for a cookout with nothing else, but otherwise no thanks.

More than likely an old bottle from my local ABC. It smelled like a Styrofoam plate and tasted almost as bad. To this breweries’ credit there was actually an aftertaste of hops though!

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draught @ CT Whale game: This one was sold at the game as "Whale Ale" I got them to show me the cap for the keg to find out what it really was. The color is a clear amber color. Some tan head to it with a little lacing. Milder nose. Mainly caramel malts, but no sweetness and has some earthiness. Taste is OK. Malty, and a touch bitter with some of the earthiness and no sweetness. Acceptable.

1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
UPDATED: MAY 5, 2013 Tasted 25/4/2013 355ml can (English and Arabic writing on car). Poured a clear golden amber colour with a two-finger white foamy head that collapsed quickly and laced poorly. Low carbonation with a few small bubbles forming trails. Aroma very faintly of malt. Taste of sweet malt, no real bitterness, bland; gets a bit sour as warms. Light body. Smooth, light, soft with a slightly metallic finish. 24/8/2012 Poured a clear pale golden yellow colour with a one-finger white foamy head that quickly diminished but laced OK. High carbonation. Slight aroma and this of sour grain plus a trace of malt. Taste of grain and had not a lot of hops. Light body (bordering on watery). Smooth finish with a touch of very slight bitterness. Aroma, taste and palate comparable with other large commercial brewery lagers.

On principle, we try to support smaller, craft brews. We find them more interesting too. When we tried this Budweiser American Ale, I was not particularly wowed. Rob liked it, which is just better than neutral.

3.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Ale that has the characteristics of smaller batch brewing. Good semi-strong barley flavor with just enough hopness to get noticed. I found myself wanting one after another, a testament to the great finish.

Not awful. Copper colored slightly hoppy caramel. Haven't seen this in a while. Not sure if it still exists.

from notes (is this even made anymore?): very Bass like in its pour and taste. Light on the hops. There are much better ambers out there if you want to find them. Scroll past this beer and this entire brewery.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Original review: 2/4/09. Poured an obvious amber with a massive white frothy head resting on top. Retention on this one was surprisingly firm as it held up for most of the entire drink. Some spotty lacing on glass edge. No more. Smelled of floral hops and caramel. Decent.
Very thin mouthfeel. Watery and weak. Flavor is very muted hop base, with no bitter bite at all. Red Ales need to be hoppy and bitter, this one was neither. Still, I could place some decent malt presence and definitive caramel backing. Finish was a tad chalky and drying. I really could drink a few of these. Not bad. Avoid the hate, check it out.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Clear reddish copper with 1/2 inch head leaving it frothy with a bit of lacing.
Aroma is sweet malt carmel, somewhat bready slight smokiness almost- pretty nice malt aroma.
Full mouthfeel at first with creamyness, then some citrus hops, more malt carmel taste than hops with a bit of roast and finishes dry clean with a pretty tame citrusy tart bitterness. Its almost like a mild scottish ale/ mild ale.Not too bad.
