JohnQPublic (387), Brooklyn, New York, USA Dec 23, 2008 Bottle. Pours a crystal clear amber with a pretty impressive, rock off-white head. Nose has some citrus hops and a bit of fruity esters. Taste is fairly toned down - dry malt body hints of caramel, and is paired early on with a very light hop character, that never really takes off. Lots of fruity esters throughout - seems like they REALLY want the ale characteristics to come through. Medium bodied and lightly carbonated. Fairtly drinkable beer, though nothing overly special. Draft from AB hospitality center at Sea World. I think this beer is getting rated a bit low due to the producer. Lightly, but noticeably, hopped amber ale with a nice appearance, decent head and nothing overtly macro about it. It was clean and refreshing while certainly fuller bodied than lager. I have had much worse, I think probably a perfect crowd pleaser. Mehmet22 (32), Pottstown, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 23, 2008 Bottle. This beer is the very reason I love American pale Ale. Wonderful hoppy bite, without the snap of an IPA. Certainly the malt balances what I feel is ABs best product ever. This ale brings what I love about SN and SA ales together at a competitive price. Maybe one downside...seems a bit unfinished leaving a sort of sweetness. However, this is a fridge-worthy crowd pleaser. BetterRedFred (61), Los Alamos, New Mexico, USA Dec 22, 2008 Actually, not as absolutely as piss poor as I thought it would be. Color, aroma, and taste were all acceptable for something coming from Budweiser. Nothing Ill pay money for again, but not a drain pour. The worst part of this whole experience was drinking the 3.2 version of this shit in a shitty motel room in Weathorford OK of all the fucked up holes in the universe, and knowing this was the BEST shit that could be found in town. Why would ANYONE choose to live here?
What the FUCK is up with the apostrophe warning? Is this website based in OK per chance? morrdt (608), Jacksonville, Florida, USA Dec 22, 2008 12 oz. bottle. The latest creation old AB comes up with another slightly better than average beer. The only thing this beer is good for is drinking at a tailgate when you are in a hurry to get drunk. Not bad, better than most Bud beers, but if you polish a turd, it is still a turd. Meh. Aubrey (2773), Denver, Colorado, USA Dec 22, 2008 Had to see what old AB has been up to these days. Seems it is still trying to come up with beers that are more micro-like. This beer poured with a clear copper hue and a decent beige head. Not too shabby. Texture was light and crisp, fuller than your typical macro light lager yet still fairly easy to quaff. Malts were too sweet and sugary and they had a synthetic quality to them, as if the beer was sweetened with Equal or Splenda or something. A metallic or iron-like off flavor was off-putting. A mild bitterness attempted to balance things out, to no avail. Overall, it just seemed like a really boring amber ale. Not to mention it was unbalanced, with too much sweetness and not enough bitterness. jhliesen (403), West Melbourne, Florida, USA Dec 22, 2008 Tap, Free at the Produce Place!--Decent head on top of a dark amber color beer. No real aroma detected. Some malt flavoring, but thin overall, it could be due to the coldness of the keg or the just Budweiser. Thicken the malt taste and they might have something. Produce Place. RichJ7 (1175), Cullman, Alabama, USA Dec 22, 2008 Amber pour with a small white head. A touch of hops in the nose, but mostly sweet malt. Flavor is not bad, sweet and malty with a lightly bitter hop finish. Not a bad effort from A-B, but not so great compared to your average craft brew.
