While this brew is a step up from the poor lagers that A-B is famous for, it falls remarkably short of decent in terms of overall ale quality. I had really hoped for A-B’s success in this offering and was sorely disappointed, though I can’t imagine why, considering their track record. What the owner of a more discriminating palate realizes is that the bitter finish is not a plus, that the almost total lack of body in this brew practically removes it from being in the class of an ALE at all, and that a nice amber color does not always indicate a decently drinkable brew. The first clue should have been the quickly disappearing head and lack of the lacing that one gets with the finer ales. Lastly, the barely noticeable alcohol content, which had it been high could have somewhat saved this wretched piece, was the final coups de gras.

Still has some corny notes to it, but I was suprised that it does have some nice hoppiness. Easy to drink, sweet and slightly fruity with the hops in there. Overall its not bad, but it does taste like budweiser on hops.

Pours an attractive deep copper color with a frothy head that disappears a little too quick. This beer has a nice caramel malt flavor with actually a good little tinge of hops. Nothing to blow your palate away, but the hops are actually present! For the style this is actually decent. If you handed me this before I knew what it was, I would think it might be a decent amber from a smaller brewery.

A good beer for Budweiser, and I am suprised that they decided to make a ’’ale’’ under their flagship name. Beer pours a copper/amber color, the head is bright white and dissipates quickly. The flavor and smell is lacking, tastes like a more concentrated regular budweiser, or maybe like a watered down ale. Might not be a bad beer if you are just getting in to driking darker beers. But bery lack luster in my opinion

12oz bottle. Rich copper color with a medium lasting head. A bit of malt is present in the nose but it exists only under the more basic grain scents you get from Bud. A note of alcohol as well. The flavor is better than their average brew in that it actually tastes like something. A bit of fruit and a little malt caramel but rough grain notes get in there as well. Earthy hop profile. Not bad, but I think the yeast they used gave it a funny fruity profile and the grain seems a bit off. Medium body, well carbonated. A good effort.
