| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Oct 23, 2008 The pour wasn’t bad. Copper colored with a solid off-white head that provided some lacing. The aroma was more malt than anything else. Faint citrus. The flavor was like a malty Budweiser. A bit of citrusy hops slip in at the end. Below average, fizzy mouthfeel. Better than most BMC products, but not by much. cloudstrife (50), Rochester, New York, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 23, 2008 12oz Bottle poured into glass. Deep amber color with a thick head that lasts and laces the glass. Aroma of light hops and malts. Flavor starts out with some citrusy hops and finishes with a smooth malt taste. Nice carbonation and a long finish on this beer. What a surprise from Anheuser-Busch guess it’s a good thing they got bought out by the Belgians. I like the question that Maddog raised about who this beer is for. I enjoy it definitely and am glad I got it. nearbeer (1834), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Oct 23, 2008 12 oz. Clear copper with red tints. Lasting half-inch head leaves sticky lace behind. Aroma of spicy toffee, apple, root vegetables and maybe some toasted nut. Flavor is similar, with more nut and a hint of citrus. Has a fruity twang to it similar to some British beers I don’t like such as Bass; must be the yeast. Light-medium body is smoothish, lightly tingly and finishes slightly dry. | 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Oct 23, 2008 12 oz bottle pour. Very sweet malty aroma, copper coloring. Very sweet malty taste with no hoppiness to balance. I’d drink another one if someone gave it to me, but wouldn’t pay for one. Friday (20), Brighton, Michigan, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Oct 22, 2008 I guess this is their attempt at an American Pale Ale. Not a bad attempt. But, sould have been much better. Got a great smell. Good Copper color. Slight hop flavor than]t turns sweet and light. Very thin on the palate. Not bad for a cheap ale, like for a hot, sunny day slumped over a BBQ grill. But, much better pale ales exist, pretty much anywhere. Maddog (234), Kettering, Ohio, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Oct 22, 2008 Here we go. I cannot for the life of me figure out who they are creating this beer for. For the majority of AB drinkers, the Bud Light crowd, won’t like this beer and the true die hard beer snobs certainly won’t like this one. This amber ale even falls short of low quality brews like Killian’s. It even tastes like a poor man’s Killian’s. All malty sweetness and not enough quality nor hops. I wonder what they tell the brewmasters at AB. ’’Create an ale of average quality, not too distinct, not too hoppy, not too.....good, and we will market the piss out of it, and make millions.’’ topherh (899), Kearney, Missouri, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 10/20 | Oct 22, 2008 Bottle pours a brownish amber, aroma is sweet. Flavor is slightly sweet with grainy malt upfront, followed by light hop bitterness. Mouthfeel is thin. A very average amber. Ernest (4483), Boulder, Colorado, USA

Head is initially small, frothy, light brown, mostly diminishing.
Body is medium to dark amber.
Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (caramel, grain), lightly hoppy (flowers, resin), with a note of bubble gum.
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter.
Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation.
There’s not much to it, but there’s certainly nothing particularly wrong about it either. The gummy ester is a little odd (almost as if they were shooting for something like Kwak or De Koninck...or perhaps just missed their intended mark), though not really unpleasant. Rather bland and thin in the mouth, but again not unpleasant or dirty. A good effort in this vein, as with Ascent 54, the Green Valley stuff, etc.
