| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Oct 17, 2008 Draft. Pours a mid-amber hue with little head and a so-so hop aroma. The cascade hops linger in this one from start to finish, a pleasant surprise. Malt tones are understated and overwhelmed by the hops. This is basically a hoppy Sam Adams Bostom Lager knockoff without the balancing of the malt. Still, it’s one of the best beers I’ve had from A-B. If you can find this beer cheap, it would be a good value for the money. brianprentiss (473), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Oct 17, 2008 What an Amber would taste like if made by Budweiser. If only their beer could be half as good as their commercials. This one smells stanky, has very little head. It’s looks pretty but it just leaves you flat. JoeinUccle (902), Brussels, Belgium
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 17, 2008 Bottle and draft. Pours lovely bright copper with thick, creamy, lasting head. Faintly fruity nose with citrus and cider notes. Light bitterness, fruity backdrop with some subtle citrus-hop presence. Full body, soft carbonation. Physically attractive, really drinkable and yes, it tastes pretty good. I don’t much care who makes the stuff. I’m a slut. kenb (1100), Oregon, USA

Nose is toasted grains and mild fruit. Taste is caramel, corny, grainy, grassy, and a cardboardy aftertaste. Carbonation is high, body is light. jimvy (131), O’Fallon, Missouri, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 16, 2008 I think some people have been bagging this beer because it’s a bud product. If you judge it as an american amber, it’s actually a very well made and enjoyable beer. Bud’s marketing just can’t seem to get anything right but dumb Bud Lite commercials....this should have been called Bud American Amber Ale. With that said, let’s get on to the guts of the rating.
Aroma is a nice blend of citrus hops and caramel malt, though the malt dominates. Wonderful orange copper color, brilliantly clear with an off-white head that is long lasting. Flavor is dominated by malt, with some sweetness upfront, though it finishes dry with a caramel note. The hop bitterness is supportive, but not dominate. Overall, I think this is a very good american amber ale, though certainly not as hop dominate as I prefer. Still, a nicely made beer and enjoyable for an everyday amber. pkbites (328), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/20 | Oct 16, 2008 Updated: Oct 17, 2008Pours a lovely copper with a thick, creamy beige head. Foam looks like a scoop of French vanilla ice cream Very nice. Some good lacing on the glass too. Not too much a nose: light scents of malt, caramel, and and bread. Flavor is lightly hoppy, caramel, and malt, mixed with A GALLON OF FREAKING WATER!!! WHAT THE HELL, ANHEUSER-BUSCH? WHAT THE HELL? This looks, smells, and tastes like a great beer that was watered down with a gallon of H2O! Why? Why did you ruin a brew that was probably pretty good on paper? This tastes like the "light’ version of a much better beer. Over priced at $6.99 a sixer. sheatripper (863), Brooklyn, New York, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Oct 16, 2008 Can’t knock it until I try it. Mercifully cheap bottle from the deli (same price as the regular Bud-$1.25). Poured copper with a small frothy off-white head. Aroma marked by honey-bran cereal, with cracker jack, granola and sweet horse feed. Some grassy hoppiness, but no discernable cascade aromas or other aromatic citurs/pine hop essence I can pick up. Cereal/caramel malt flavors with some citrus hoppiness in the back, but overall muted. Medium bodied though gassy. All said and done drinkable, but below average by craft standards.
