Pours amber. Aroma caramel Taste is malty, caramel, some hop finish crisp. Nothing special, and still nothing I would buy.

Draft at the Greene Turtle poured a medium copper color with an off-white head. Very little discernible aroma. There was a sweet, honey like aroma. Very thin with alot of corn in the body and a bit of caramel. But definitely had the "bud" flavor to it.

12oz bottle.
Pours a nice copperish-amber with big foamy white head that eventually settles to just a ring around the glass. The ring leaves satisfactory bits of lace around the inside of the glass with each sip. Aroma is faint but gives up some citrus and floral hops with a fair dose of pine. Flavor is a bit clunky with a bitter hop profile up front and some malt sweetness behind it, but not much. Piney aftertaste eventually becomes somewhat reminiscent of dish soap. Not a particularly complex flavor profile. Palate is a bit watery with a dry finish. Tastes like something they’d serve at a so-so brewpub that doesn’t aim much higher than to make better beer than, well, Anheuser-Busch -- in essence, it’s an honest effort that just plain falls short. It’s a bit like Buick taking aim at Lexus and Acura and coming up with the Lucerne. On the one hand it’s nice to see A-B make a good-faith effort at an honest craft beer; on the other hand -- and I don’t mean this cynically -- I wonder if they shouldn’t just stick to making pisswater since it’s what they do best.

Amber. Big head with lacing. Aroma: Floral hops, citris, caramel. Flavor: Pretty much the same as the aroma. Nothing special. Light bitter finish. Better than expected. In fact, I would say that this is the best beer to ever come out of St. Louis although that isn’t saying much. Compared to most Amber Ales, not so good. A.B. finally tried to brew a real beer with limited success! What took them so long? At this rate, they will catch up around 2033.

Bottle. Poured Amber with thick foamy head that quickly subsided to a thin white head. Much lacing. Thin hop aroma. Weak flavour. Taste of burnt grain, hop and burnt seeds. Lingering finish, but other than the bitterness it was unpleasant. I give A-B credit for trying, but they’ve a long drag to go before they will win any quality beer lovers over.

Not a twist off (that was a bit of a surprise). Pours with a thick foamy head that settles to a comfortable layer of white in a beautiful sea of dark amber. Aroma is lightly sweet but not too strong. Taste starts mild. Not much depth, and the strongest flavor is the hops. Long, bitter finish, but not in an entirely bad way. If I could describe this beer in one word it would be ’superficial.’ Beautiful on the outside, but not much character or substance.

12 oz bottle-nice looking brew, cloudy copper color w/a large, off white head which lasted thru the beer. Slight, flavors of caramel & hops, but they are very muted. Had some carbonation. I had high hopes for this brew based on the pour, but it didn’t deliver. Pretty bland, maybe it would be better on tap. I grew up a Bud drinker so I wouldn’t say I have an anti-Bud bias; in fact I would rather drink a regular Bud over this.
