kpresley77 (133), Jackson, Georgia, USA Oct 8, 2008 Bottle pours clear amber with thin white head. Very little lacing. Aroma is sweet malt. First taste is sweet and it is pretty well balanced. Not much hops burn but a slight linger of hops. To much carbonation. tomciccateri (496), Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA Oct 8, 2008 On draught at Fat Squirrel in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. Pours a clear amber color with a white head. Very carbonated with a light body. CO2 accentuates the hop bitterness. Detectable hop flavor along with slight pale malt flavor. Very dry (rice or 6-row?) malty character.Clean. theshocker (329), Marietta, Georgia, USA Oct 8, 2008 This beer tastes like an octoberfest made with a clean ale yeast. A mocktoberferst homebrewers call it. I don’t get any cascade aroma. There’s a bit of biterness in the flavor but malt really dominates. Its not very interesting but there’s nothing wrong with it either. mrant (330), New York, USA Oct 8, 2008 Smells pleasantly malty with balanced hops. Pours a nice deep amber color with a thin offwhite head. Taste is like a more flavorful budweiser. Very nice from bud puggy211 (576), cordova, Tennessee, USA Oct 8, 2008 they can do better...and should. expecting a beer that would be a slightly more malted up bud with more sweetish malt clean and with a tight finish. and somewhere in there the hint of hop in the German style only weaker. the color to be nut brown like with a less than moderate but carbonated palate. the carbonation weak after about 2 minutes. UHHH....pour down the drain. Reid (1085), Salem, Oregon, USA Oct 8, 2008 Amber body with actually quite an attractive large light tan head.
Aroma is pleasant enough...mostly caramel malts and weakish hoppiness.
Taste is mostly caramel/burnt malts and a touch of vaguely bitter hop. Surprisingly there is a harsh alcoholic taste too..but it is just for a moment.
Mouthfeel decidely arverage for style
Overall I am disapointed, this tastes like they actually had a half good recipe and chickened out at the last and watered it down to appeal to the Bud Lager drinkers ( might explain why it was late ot in the market). TheGent (144), , Massachusetts, USA Oct 8, 2008 Well it is advertised all over now so i figured id try it on tap when i saw it. A pretty dam nice looking amber ale with lil orange tinge in the light. thick head bubbles down fast. smells of sweet carmel and slightly bready. Taste still contains some of that bad rice flavor form busch but is balanced with better hoppiness. not a bad choice if your at a bar with all common slection. Juelze (889), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA Oct 8, 2008 Pours a rich copper color with thick off white head. Aroma is of sweet malt, faint hops and a liquid soap aroma. Taste is sweet caramel malt, light fruitiness and subdued hop aroma with some notes of oxidation. It’s what I expected a poor attempt at a macro from a micro.
