COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Carefully brewed with barley from America’s heartland and cascade hops from the pacific northwest, this rich, amber colored ale has robust flavor and a distinctive hoppy finish.

This beer tastes like an octoberfest made with a clean ale yeast. A mocktoberferst homebrewers call it. I don’t get any cascade aroma. There’s a bit of biterness in the flavor but malt really dominates. Its not very interesting but there’s nothing wrong with it either.

Well this is at least a little bit better than budweiser. Not to much malt profile and a mild hop finish.

Tastes like a maltier version of the original Budweiser. In other words tastes like garbage water with extra malt!

amber color, aroma and flavors of stale grains, adjudications, and slight caramel, more drinkable than any other AB beer, but thats not saying much

Stale corn and cardboard. Bought it when it came out with pretty low expectations and this still managed to underwhelm.

An amber beer with a light head, much better than most of the other beers at A-B. A taste of malts with a bit of toffee. Not on par with craft ambers, but ok.

Not a bad effort by Budweiser, and I'll take this over any of their others. Still, aftertaste is a bit stale and lingers. Okay for a cookout with nothing else, but otherwise no thanks. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

More than likely an old bottle from my local ABC. It smelled like a Styrofoam plate and tasted almost as bad. To this breweries’ credit there was actually an aftertaste of hops though!

Draught @ CT Whale game: This one was sold at the game as "Whale Ale" I got them to show me the cap for the keg to find out what it really was. The color is a clear amber color. Some tan head to it with a little lacing. Milder nose. Mainly caramel malts, but no sweetness and has some earthiness. Taste is OK. Malty, and a touch bitter with some of the earthiness and no sweetness. Acceptable.

UPDATED: MAY 5, 2013 Tasted 25/4/2013 355ml can (English and Arabic writing on car). Poured a clear golden amber colour with a two-finger white foamy head that collapsed quickly and laced poorly. Low carbonation with a few small bubbles forming trails. Aroma very faintly of malt. Taste of sweet malt, no real bitterness, bland; gets a bit sour as warms. Light body. Smooth, light, soft with a slightly metallic finish. 24/8/2012 Poured a clear pale golden yellow colour with a one-finger white foamy head that quickly diminished but laced OK. High carbonation. Slight aroma and this of sour grain plus a trace of malt. Taste of grain and had not a lot of hops. Light body (bordering on watery). Smooth finish with a touch of very slight bitterness. Aroma, taste and palate comparable with other large commercial brewery lagers.

On principle, we try to support smaller, craft brews. We find them more interesting too. When we tried this Budweiser American Ale, I was not particularly wowed. Rob liked it, which is just better than neutral.
