12oz bottle-pours a thin tan head with large bubbles and copper color. Aroma is medium malt-caramel, secondary citrus/perfumy hops. Taste is medium malt-caramel, dry and bitter citrus/perfumy ops, some cherry. Rougher than the original American Ale by Cricket Hill. Also a bit over carbonated. Bomber. Crystal clear, coppery amber, nice beige head. Lots of carbonation. Sweet caramel nose, bready, light earth. Sweet caramel and earthy flavors, mild spicy bite. Excellent lace. Far better than expected, but still simplistic and somewhat boring. A very acceptable session brew.

Pours a nice copperish-amber with big foamy white head that eventually settles to just a ring around the glass. The ring leaves satisfactory bits of lace around the inside of the glass with each sip. Aroma is faint but gives up some citrus and floral hops with a fair dose of pine. Flavor is a bit clunky with a bitter hop profile up front and some malt sweetness behind it, but not much. Piney aftertaste eventually becomes somewhat reminiscent of dish soap. Not a particularly complex flavor profile. Palate is a bit watery with a dry finish. Tastes like something they’d serve at a so-so brewpub that doesn’t aim much higher than to make better beer than, well, Anheuser-Busch -- in essence, it’s an honest effort that just plain falls short. It’s a bit like Buick taking aim at Lexus and Acura and coming up with the Lucerne. On the one hand it’s nice to see A-B make a good-faith effort at an honest craft beer; on the other hand -- and I don’t mean this cynically -- I wonder if they shouldn’t just stick to making pisswater since it’s what they do best.

On tap at Nick’s Coney Island in Portland, OR--Poured a clear yet deep amber-orange body with no head (poured into a chilled glass, the head lingered). Reminiscent of Mac’s Amber Ale. Clean, smooth, well-balanced soft NW hops (no bite). Like most Bud products, this beer is no risk taker and pretty dull.

For a macro, this isn’t bad. It’s obviously AB’s answer to to microbrews and Sam Adams. Its pours a copperish amber with a thin off white head. Its easy to drink, a bit watery, but one can actually taste hops in the flavor.

Appearance: Clear, dark amber body with a fine, constant stream of effervescence throughout and a thin, fizzy, off-white head. Smell: Slight, distant caramel scent - like someone unwrapped a lil’ square of caramel beside you. Maybe a hint of grain in there, too. Taste: Mild pale malt character with a bit of caramel and a light grainy taste. Mild sweetness. Faroff flavors of citrus and spice. Weak hop bitterness. Slightly watery all the while. Lingering caramel candy taste beyond the clean finish. Mouthfeel: Medium-thin body. Medium-high carbonation. Drinkability: It’s like they took a decent beer and just hosed it down with clean, clear water. I fear it’ll be one of those offerings that doesn’t appeal to craft beer drinkers or those that have been drinking X macro for 10, 20, 50 years and don’t want, and have never wanted anything else.

Deep copper with off white head and lace. Rich caramel aroma with light hops. Caramel malt and a light hop bitter on the flavor. A bit foamy and thin keep it from pushing the envelope.

Pretty good for a Bud! Nice mild hoppy flavor and smell. Tast is not too strong but the finish is smooth. I quite enjoyed this pleasant suprise!
