COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
With a blend of two-row caramel malt and four types of domestic hops, Budweiser Black Crown is finished on a bed of Beechwood chips for a smooth, balanced taste. Incorporating the proprietary yeast directly descended from the original Budweiser yeast strain used by Adolphus Busch in 1876, Budweiser Black Crown retains the key characteristics of Budweiser with its clean taste and high drinkability. Featuring more body, color and hop character than the flagship lager, it also has a slightly higher alcohol content at 6% ABV.

Lagerboy (1259) - British Columbia, CANADA - OCT 18, 2013
341 ml single bottle, CDN version Budwieser Crown, impulse buy from the Heffley Creek Store. Surprisingly fine looking pour, clear bright copper with a lasting, rocky foamy white head. Looks can be and are deceiving... aroma is muted and foul, tastes like they just added some caramel to their regular king of industrial swill concoction. Perhaps a feeble attempt at being crafty? As bad as this is, it’s still: LF (Lagerboy Friendly)

probstblueribbon (2944) - Nepean, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 17, 2013
341 ml bottle from LCBO, served cold in a tulip glass.

App.: Clear light amber with a decent off-white froth. Aroma: Earthy caramel notes, a touch herbaceous, kinda sweet malts, a bit of dark dried fruit, bread crust. Palate: Medium body, medium-full carbonation. Flav.: Caramel/toffee, bread crust, a little grassy, herbaceous hops; almost dry with a little bitterness and a light caramel/toffee and bread crust finish.

Not too bad.

This beer is awesome. Looks and tastes great. 6% alcohol content makes this offering from Budweiser even better. Clear, crisp and light -perfect for throwing some back with the boys watching NFL, NHL, BBQ’S whatever!!!!

Bottle at home. Pours clear amber with a small, frothy white head, short retention with spare lacing. Aroma is toast and grain malt with earthy hops. Flavor is malt dominant with light hops and bitterness and a dry finish. Medium to light body and medium carbonation.

Pours light gold with very frothy head - overly carbonated. Not much in way of aroma - a bit of dusty earth. Taste is mild, perhaps a touch sweet, but not much there. A step up from normal Budweiser I guess but I still wouldn’t buy this.

Golden amber pour with good near white head. Caramelly, but not overly sweet. Malty, with a toasted biscuit note. Kinda reminds me of a watered down, less good tasting killians. Meh. But not horrible.

Scrapersnbeer (1490) - Boston, Massachusetts, USA - OCT 8, 2013
Aroma of damp grain and sugary caramel. Golden orange color. Corn syrupy sweet taste, weird sugar aftertaste. Noticeably strong feeling, although in truth it is not strong at all. Body seems sticky. Those adds with the cool people, all dressed in black, uniting over this beer...and it’s not even a true amber.

All i am gonna say is that it beats regular Budweiser, but that is not hard to do, so still not a good beer.

Ambrée pale avec un petit col blanc. L’arôme des ceréals avec du malt. Le goût est de malt avec peut-être un peu de maïs. Beaucoup mieux que le Bud normale mais encore pas bonne.

Bottle: golden-amber hybrid with stunning clarity and a white head that’s almost gone before I’m finished pouring. Aroma is incredibly faint... Grain, lightly toasted caramel malt, musky and grassy hops, lots of back-end metallic notes. Not as much sweet corn as regular Bud, thank god. Taste has more corn, though, with some grains, light caramel, wet/sour wood, and a very light hop character. Like mixing Bud Light with a year old pale ale. Still has that distinct Budweiser twinge as it warms (must be the beachwood aging)! Still not that good, but better than many of Bud’s other offerings.
