With a blend of two-row caramel malt and four types of domestic hops, Budweiser Black Crown is finished on a bed of Beechwood chips for a smooth, balanced taste. Incorporating the proprietary yeast directly descended from the original Budweiser yeast strain used by Adolphus Busch in 1876, Budweiser Black Crown retains the key characteristics of Budweiser with its clean taste and high drinkability. Featuring more body, color and hop character than the flagship lager, it also has a slightly higher alcohol content at 6% ABV.

12-pack from the States purchased by my guitarist, Pete K. Pours a clean amber colour with a nice creamy, off-white head, that has decent retention and creamy lacing all-around. Sweet nose with caramel malts and very light hops. Slightly creamy mouthfeel. The taste has the caramel malts, but very watered-down and not really sweet. More on the chemical-side of things with whatever hops they use. Was better from the bottle, and real cold. Still, probably the best product with the Budweiser name on it.

Light caramel, bready aroma. Sweet, light caramel malt flavor, with more lingering sweetness. A little macro vegetal aroma and flavor. (6% version)

Light orange in color with good clarity. Nearly no head. Soft carbonation. A bit too sweet for me. Would have liked a bigger hop bill. Better than regular Budweiser though.

Pours dark amber color with a wild honey aroma. Taste is like a strong Bud. Nothing special. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Rating in my hotel room, 22 oz bottle. Pours slightly more amber than regular bud. Nose of corn, metal, grass. Taste is same. Body is more full. This is exactly Natty Daddy Light.

This would be Bud Heavy. A little stronger and sweeter than your average American Macro-brew but that’s it. A real disappointment to me. No hoppy notes or malty notes. It is a domestic brew through and through.

OOooOOOooo weee - something new from Anheuser Busch! Could hardly wait to get the cap off of this baby. Nice brass pour, and a mild, but better than expected aroma. It tastes like a slightly stronger, sweeter version of the "king of beers."

Good inexpensive beer. One of best macro brew options broadly available. ..............zzzzzzzzzzz ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Poured and nice orange amber colour with some initial white head but quickly dissipated into its recommended lager glass. The flavor is a refreshingly caramely some candy some pastryish malt but medium to thin body....some characteristic macro tinnyness or mineralness also present.....prob better then other AB attempts at dark beer. Id have it again.

This beer actually is not that bad. It’s one of bud’s best accomplishments. Keep it coming!
