COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
With a blend of two-row caramel malt and four types of domestic hops, Budweiser Black Crown is finished on a bed of Beechwood chips for a smooth, balanced taste. Incorporating the proprietary yeast directly descended from the original Budweiser yeast strain used by Adolphus Busch in 1876, Budweiser Black Crown retains the key characteristics of Budweiser with its clean taste and high drinkability. Featuring more body, color and hop character than the flagship lager, it also has a slightly higher alcohol content at 6% ABV.

Bottle thrust upon us by blipp at James’ place for a tasting. Pours a piss clear gold with a thin white head. Sweet corn and grain. Flavors follow the nose, more sweet corn and grain. Not much going on.

pours a nice amber brown with a decent head. smells like regular Bud. malty sweet with a bit of caramel, but spoiled by the same odd Bud flavor at the end. it must be the beechwood they are strangely proud of.

Pour from a 12 oz. bottle during a promotion at Crown in downtown Indianapolis. Pours a clear gold color, a bit deeper than regular Bud, with a fizzy white head. Notes of sweet and caramel malts, crackers, dried sweet fruits, sugar, and a little grass. Light-bodied, but bigger than a regular Bud, with medium-high carbonation and a sweet, malty, dry mouthfeel. Not very good but probably better than Bud overall.

Pour looks like a slightly darker Budweiser. Aroma is a slightly maltier Budweiser. Flavor is a slightly bolder Budweiser. Overall taste is just like a slightly better than Budweiser.

Was truly disappointed when first tasted this beer. It looked excellent and I thought Bud finally got one right. Taste was just not there and not one I will look for. Better than regular Bud, but still disappointing!

Hazy golden beer with some orange accents. Thin, white head. Aromas are slightly woody and a bit skunky. Tastes of corn mash, some barley, tiny hints of caramel, and skunked beer. Some caramel malt in the finish makes this beer much better than regular Budweiser. Session beer and not terrible.

Meh.... Taste like bud light platinum. Very unimpressive. Though it does give you a nice shine.

Bonus points for the higher alcohol percentage. It basically tastes just like Budweiser though. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 ounce bottle, born on date of September 30, 2012 (Julian Date 12273 stamped on label). This is labeled as Batch 91406. A buddy bought me some of the Project 12 beers since he found them on sale recently (bought the 12 pack for just $5.75), so I might as well try them. Served in a pint glass, the beer pours a clear amber color with about a half inch off-white head. Head retention is good, and there’s a decent amount of lacing. The brew smells like sweet and grainy malt, and some caramel. Taste is similar to the aroma, but there’s also the addition of some nuts. Mouthfeel/body is light/medium, with a good amount of carbonation. Truthfully, this is better than I expected it to be. Worth a try if you can pick up a single somewhere.
