COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
With a blend of two-row caramel malt and four types of domestic hops, Budweiser Black Crown is finished on a bed of Beechwood chips for a smooth, balanced taste. Incorporating the proprietary yeast directly descended from the original Budweiser yeast strain used by Adolphus Busch in 1876, Budweiser Black Crown retains the key characteristics of Budweiser with its clean taste and high drinkability. Featuring more body, color and hop character than the flagship lager, it also has a slightly higher alcohol content at 6% ABV.

Bottle. Pours a clear amber with paperthin head that diminishes quickly to nothing. The aroma is caramel malt and raisin. Thin mouthfeel with a watery malt and light caramel. Not much going on with this one.

Clear, amber pour with a slightly off-white head. The aroma has sweet caramel and bread. It has a light, crisp body with lively carbonation. The taste begins and ends sweet with a little hop bitterness in between. A decent effort on this one.

The color of this beer is a shade or two darker than Budweiser. It heads well. The aroma is full of the beech wood. The malt is dominated by caramel malt, but is a bit thin. Little to no discernable hop characteristic. A smooth brew.

Has a nice malty and surprising smooth. The malt has a bit of caramel and inform tidally no hops. It's good for a distraction. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

There is some substance to this beer. A slight oak taste and the malts are very rich for what they are. Not hoppy but tasty ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Dark Lager? I’m not even sure I’d give it that much! Pours about like a budweiser maybe half a shade darker at best with a white head. Nose is funky, sweet malt but almost with some artificial notes as well? Strange. I get some banana character sneaking in there too. Palate is of cheap macro malt that is honestly kind of rough maybe that’s due to them cranking this up to 6%abv (they market the hell out of it being that too). Overall, just a waste of time I drain poured about the last third. Go ahead and try it because if you’re like me you know deep down that this beer is going to suck but you love trying new beers and there’s always that feeling of "I just gotta know" bugging you. Just know, that feeling you have about this beer sucking? Spot. On.

Tallahassee, Fl - Publix Supermarket - 12 oz bottle. Pours a sparkling medium golden with nice bubble action and a pillowy white head that leaves plenty of lacing. The love affair stops there. Aroma is that of sweet gumballs, some wet copper pennies. Flavor is artificially sweet with some corn syrup notes, a hint of wet paper, some green apples. Mouthfeel is sticky, but not in a good way. Reminds me of a refined malt liquor. Expected just a bit more considering the hype.

Panama City Beach, Fl - Carousel Market - 12 oz bottle. Sparkling medium copper pour, light off-white head that leaves a bit of lacing. Aroma is pretty much neutral, a hint of nuttiness. Flavor is mellow, with some light caramel notes, a bit of toffee sweetness. Mouthfeel has a nice stickiness to it. Decent.

12oz twist-off bottle. Light amber color, very thin ring. Super sweet aroma, some floral hops. Smells like sweet vomit... Tastes fruity, very sweet malts, residual corn sugars, distinctive Budweiser bitterness. Overall, its a heartier beer for these BL Platinum drinkers. (3590)

12oz twist-off bottle, mixed 12pk. Red Label. Pours clear, orange color. Thin white ring, some lace. Aroma of corn tortillas & fruity esters. Flavor is dominated by fruity esters, some caramel malt, floral hops. It is crisp, with a malt sweetness. Leathery, floral hop flavor in the end. Finishes with a bit of a black pepper like tingle. Overall, Its a Budweiser. Only more color. Keep trying, AB! (3510)
