With a blend of two-row caramel malt and four types of domestic hops, Budweiser Black Crown is finished on a bed of Beechwood chips for a smooth, balanced taste. Incorporating the proprietary yeast directly descended from the original Budweiser yeast strain used by Adolphus Busch in 1876, Budweiser Black Crown retains the key characteristics of Budweiser with its clean taste and high drinkability. Featuring more body, color and hop character than the flagship lager, it also has a slightly higher alcohol content at 6% ABV.

12 oz bottle. Pours a weak amber color with almost no head. Light caramel flavor. Tastes like a weak Fat Tire. Not terrible.

Pours a crystal clear lite amber, thin head that dies quickly leaving some lacing behind. Smell has hints of caramel, corn and a little lite malt. Aroma is very weak. Taste also has hints of caramel malt. Pretty sweet, almost no bitterness. Thin watery palate, Better than bud lite but only by a hair, still not worth buying, glad i only got one bottle

From the bomber into a pilsener, it pours a clear red with a one inch white foamy fizzy head that lasts for about a good two minutes before dieing fairly quickly. Rapid carbonation is seen rising. The smell is sweet among corn/rice adjuncts, malts, and sugar. The taste is the same. The palate is probably the best thing about this thing as it lives up to its label "distinctively smooth." It is light and coats the mouth and tongue smoothly. It leaves a bland, slightly metallic yet acceptable aftertaste and a sweet watery finish. Overall, actually not bad for AB, I’d probably have this over a fair amount of other BMC products, but as an American Amber/Red Lager, I’d say it doesn’t compare to better ones of its style.

double deuce - pours very clear gold with quickly diminishing white head. Nose is faint: cardboard? Flavor adds sweet malts. yes, fairly bready. lightly sweet. better than the king of beers in both the flavor and ABV.

Bottle. Pours light amber with a fizzy head. Faint sweet malty notes, grains, light bread, and just a hint of bitterness. Definitely a step or two above Bud Light and Bud Heavy. I could hammer a 12-er of this shit if I needed to.

Crystal clear dark amber. Smell is malted rice and grain. Taste is clean and high in malty goodness. Hops are really taking a backseat to the dark earthy grain flavors. Slight nuttiness. Smooth finish where the wood chips are noticeable. Raised on Budweiser this punched up version is like the adult version. More flavor, alcohol, and color make this a very drinkable brew. Im a huge craft brew fan but if you were to pour this one into a pint glass and serve to a friend they wouldnt think Bud.

12oz bottle. Can I just say this is mediocre and not great and just call it a review. It lacks the horrible corn flavor of regular Budweiser, but that’s about the only improvement. Where is the flavor?

12oz bottle (courtesy of Headbanger) labeled as Project Twelve - Batch 91406, poured into a Lager Glass at 36°. Color is a deep golden with good carbonation and a small tight white head. Aroma is very lightly roasted malt. It has a light body with a crisp mouth feel. Flavor is caramel and corn up front giving it a sweetness then a light bitterness in the back. After taste is clean with a some what dry feel. Overall it a very easy drinking brew, much better then regular Bud but still not something I would seek out.

A nice rich, deep yellow body with an off white head. The aroma is almost non-exisit. Taste is slightly hoppy, a little flat with a slight alcoholic aftertaste. A little bit better than regular Bud (which I do like), but otherwise nothing earth-shattering.

Bottle. Pours a very clear light amber color with a smallish white head. Nose is rather skunky, I think. Taste is also very bleh - like a bit stronger-tasting Bud. Bleh.
