With a blend of two-row caramel malt and four types of domestic hops, Budweiser Black Crown is finished on a bed of Beechwood chips for a smooth, balanced taste. Incorporating the proprietary yeast directly descended from the original Budweiser yeast strain used by Adolphus Busch in 1876, Budweiser Black Crown retains the key characteristics of Budweiser with its clean taste and high drinkability. Featuring more body, color and hop character than the flagship lager, it also has a slightly higher alcohol content at 6% ABV.

Sweet corn-like aroma. Gold color with a white head that dissipated quickly. Very clear. Lots of caramel in the flavor. A hint of spicy hops in the background. Balance is way towards the malty end. No diacetly or fruitiness . Medium body with high carbonation. Overall, its very clean and lagered well, but seems to have too much caramel for the style. The caramel reduces its sessional ability. I would like more balance.

Bottle. Clear amber body, small fizzy white head, decent retention. Nose is decent, caramel malt, slightly grainy, a little sweetness. Flavor isn’t much better than your average craft amber. It’s way too overly sweet up front and fades to a corn syrup laced finish. Can’t say I get a whole lot of beechwood character, but maybe a bit late on the back end. Light to medium bodied with a bit of sugary stickiness and fizzy carbonation. Not that horrible, but not exactly something I’d seek out again.

From bottle. Pours golden and clear. Aroma was sweet bready malt. Taste was bud-crap-lite-beer. But hey, change the name, bottle it and make a million.

Literally tastes just like standard Budweiser, except this one has 6% alcohol. Keep away from fraternities. Looks like bruised bloody kidney piss. Try once, then avoid forever.

This just pisses me off. This is some absolute crap. Thin and watery. Nose is fruity and a light malt aroma. God damnit. Sweet, muddy malty, waste of $1.67.

aroma like i remember michelob used to smell when i used to drink it..clear golden and slightly amber color with dissipating sudsy white head..im not trying to be a snob here but this tastes flat stale watery and unpleasant the sweetness just makes it worse, the hoppiness just an indistinguishable slight tingle.. someone will try this thinking this is what a craft beer tastes like and go right back to drinking budweiser,so its clever in a way..bad aftertaste and inappropriately low in carbonation..overall..id rather have a bud or michelob..you can do way better for 8 bucks

Poured into Woodshop Tasting snifter. Pours a deep amber with white head. Aroma of grain, crown, slight plastic. Taste is more intense than regular Budweiser.

Deep amber color out of the bottle with a short lived white head. Thin malty nose with something chemical in it. Caramel corn sweetness with some earthy notes to it. Odd metallic finish. Better than Bud....
