COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
With a blend of two-row caramel malt and four types of domestic hops, Budweiser Black Crown is finished on a bed of Beechwood chips for a smooth, balanced taste. Incorporating the proprietary yeast directly descended from the original Budweiser yeast strain used by Adolphus Busch in 1876, Budweiser Black Crown retains the key characteristics of Budweiser with its clean taste and high drinkability. Featuring more body, color and hop character than the flagship lager, it also has a slightly higher alcohol content at 6% ABV.

Pours an effervescent honey color with head retention. The aroma is that of pear and hops. The taste is a little of white grape and honey/lime hops.

"A little more to it than I expected. Though not good, or something I’d seek out again, it is within the realm of if I’m at someone’s house and that’s the best they have, I’d take it over nothing. Still has the macro corny feel and flavor, but a little bready malt as well. Light, almost undiscernable hops."

As the label advertizes, this is indeed a golden amber lager. It has a typical A-B short-lived fizzy white head. It’s a step above most of the brews that have "Budweiser" on the label in that it actually has a discernible aroma, caramel with a touch of toffee. Not as carbonated as most Buds are, I won’t be burping all night. The flavor is light, caramel and little else. No trace of hops. The finish is abrupt; when the swallow is over, no aftertaste follows. Nothing great, but more drinkable than most A-B beers.

I knew this one would have a low rating, but 9 out of 100? I know this isn’t a craft beer, but it’s not that bad. Aroma and appearance are below average, but all I really care about is the taste, and this one is surprisingly flavorful for an AB product. The palate is better than one would think too. Fizzy, refreshing without being too watery. A drinkable choice if you have to buy your beer from a gas station.

Transfer from BA review on 2-7-13- Poured from bottle into a pint glass Appearance – Pours a medium amber color with a two finger yellow tinted head. The head fades over about a 3 min time frame to leave only a trace of lacing on the sides of the glass. Smell – The aroma was light with it consisting of mainly some corn aromas. With this smell is a light aroma of caramel as well some biscuit. Taste – The taste starts out with a rather strong corn taste with some notes of a bready nature mixed within. Flavors of a light caramel sweetness as well as a light herbal and woody taste. At the end some rather flavors of a paper and some boozy tastes come to the tongue leaving a slightly bitter, alcohol and bready flavor to be left on the tongue. Mouthfeel –The body of the beer was on the medium to slightly above medium side in terms of its thickness and creaminess with a carbonation level that is on the average side. The brew may have actually been better with a lighter body as the thickness seemed to accentuate the more off flavors that come to the tongue at the end. Overall – It was rather like a malt, but not a great malt and more expensive and less effective than the average. If you want a Bud, stick with the regular or the American and pass on this.

473ml can. Clear, light amber colour. Basically no head or lacing. Mild caramel malt smell. Creamy, grain and amber malt flavours, not much hops. Slightly watery and creamy body. Overall, there are worse ways to get 6% ABV into you. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Dourada escura, quase âmbar intenso. Bem carbonatada, com espuma generosa para o venero, mas com baixa duração. Prevalece malte, fermento e baixo amargor. Cerveja redonda, com grande drinkability. Sem defeitos existem grande atrativos. Destaca no final algo metálico. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
