COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brew Masters’ Private Reserve is an exceptionally rich beer that is a symphony of character, featuring a balanced hop aroma with 8.5 percent alcohol by volume (ABV). Based on the time-honored Budweiser brewmaster holiday tradition of collecting the richest first part of the brew as it is tapped to the brew kettles to celebrate the season, this is the first time it is being made available to the public.

Malt liquor in a fancy bottle. Ok, I’ll write more. Pours a just slighlty hazy golden color, small white head. Aroma of corn, and malt liquor. Flavor is malt liquor, cheap pastic, stale, malt liquor. Thank you John, for saving me the $12 I would of wasted on this one.

Bottle, courtesy (?!) of JPDIPSO. Totally transparent copper with a fizzy white head. Burns the nostrils - cooking sherry, cornstarch, burlap, corn syrup, burlap and Vics Vapor Rub serving as a sinus elixir. Flavor brings home the grand champion of malt liquors, with decipherables consisting of corn husks, greasy jo-jos and rice chex. It’s been forever since I had a drain pour, but this definitely was deserving of its journey down the laundry room sink.

UPDATED: JUL 17, 2008 Bottled. Sweet, lightly vegetative aroma, some corn and very lightly spicy hops apparent. Light-medium golden color with a billowy, subsiding head. Sweet and malty up front, seeing a bit more hop enter the picture before finishing with a blend of bland, grainy sweetness and alcohol. Full, almost syrupy body with ample carbonation. "Double Bud", this is. Thanks to Chris for the chance to sample it, though.

Well, I purchased this out of curiousity. I really wanted it to be good and surprising, unfortunately, they duped me into paying $12 for a malt liquor in a big assed swing-top bottle. Fruity aroma with corn notes and banana-like aromas. Almost Belgian yeast-like. Very lager-ish nose. Transparent orangey-golden color with a small fizzy off-white head. Sweet, banana-like start with coconuts and a bit of roastiness in the middle. Small amounts of grassy, spicy hops to finish. Booze is hidden well. This is basically a well-done malt liquor, which isn’t saying much.

Pour is a bright clear yellow with a white fizzy head. Aroma is exactly like a Bud. This is not going well so far. Flavor is a very sweet cornyness. I would agree with some of the raters that this is more of a malt liquor than strong lager. Finsh is sweet and cloying. Its basicly Bud but with amped up alcohol. Save your money on this one.

I’ll admit that I am a sucker for nice packaging. This is a very nice presentation piece that caught my eye, so I plunked down the $10.99 for this big bottle. Attractive gold color with a huge white head. Light floral nose, for what nose there is. It does taste like Budweiser, with a corny sweetness to it. But this has more noticable alcohol, and some honey and wood flavors. This does have some malt liquer characteristics. It is better than Bud, but there are better strong lagers.

Dark gold body with a thin head. Teh aroma is spicy carrots with some dry cobwebs and almonds. The taste has some funky toffee and a dry oaky finish. There is a lot of vegetable character in this one. There is also some stale old Colby cheese. Finishes with dirt and moss. A strange strong lager.

ok so i had to buy this just outta plain curiosity.it came in a fancy box and fancy looking bottle.first pour shone a beer that looked just like its lighter younger bud brother in a can.aroma was a mix of vanilla, caramel malts, and maybe some oak?the flavor was a mix of the same and the mouthfeel was on the medium side(although way thicker and much more rich than o.g. bud)although the palate did end with some of those classic "bud" qualities.overall its not to bad.

Looks exactly as pictured. Golden with a white head. Aroma is light, sweet and floral. Sweet tasting with a ever so slight hop kick to it. Has a sticky mouthfeel to it. I detect a little corn bread in the flavor. Leaves a coating in the mouth where the sweetness lingers. I will admit it is truly amazing that they got 8.5% into this beer. It drinks smooth like a 4.2%

Golden liquid with a diminished off white head. Another european strong lager aroma brew. Heavy malt, corn, light herbal flowers, and touch of higher alcohols. Sadly, perhaps even a malt liquor aroma. OMG this is malt liquor. Flowery hops spring in with light malt flavors. Marketing at its finest. Place a brew into a 1 quart 14.5 fl. oz flip top bottle (charge $12) that would fit nicely into a 40 oz. twist off cap bottle and sell for $1.39 at the corner mart. I have disliked A-B since 1982 ( Ok I’m still bitter about the Brewers losing to the Cards) and have just lately thought twice about it verses the other macros, but this drops them down to last status again. What a bunch of Cr@p!
