Brew Masters’ Private Reserve is an exceptionally rich beer that is a symphony of character, featuring a balanced hop aroma with 8.5 percent alcohol by volume (ABV). Based on the time-honored Budweiser brewmaster holiday tradition of collecting the richest first part of the brew as it is tapped to the brew kettles to celebrate the season, this is the first time it is being made available to the public.

1 quart 14.5 fl oz, 2007, dobbel bock, thanks to Papsoe for this treat. Pours clear and golden orange with a lacing tan head. Breadish and mild spiced aroma. Breadish and mild spiced flavour with a mild oldish feel, yet smooth and nicely balance between bitterness and malt base and the spice note. Ends mild bitter and slight spiced. Light liqourice touch too.

2007 Poured an amber with a thick beige head. This beer was better than the last couple of years offerings, but not really good. Still very sweet and malt liquor-like.

...not good at all. Overly hopped, poor head retention, and light mouth feel with added alcohol taste. Was a little disappointed, but not that much because it’s Bud, just thought they would have done good on this one. A little sweet, with a sourish hoppy, aftertaste. It was a gift, and I would never buy this.

Copper in color with a decent head. Sweet aroma with some caramel and a little hops. It is sweet in the taste and has notes of caramel. Medium body. Not too bad from Budweiser.

2007 Vintage, Fargo, ND. Amber colour, malty caramel aroma. I scored one of the magnums for $5.99 at a clearance so value for money it was good - had I paid the $26.99 ’original price’ I may have been upset!

Felt like I was going to lose an eye when I went to open this swing top magnum. Lots of carbonation in the pop. Pours nothing like the picture. Color is a reddish brown color that is unlike any I have ever seen. Nose is total caramel, sugar, and a faint scent of hops. Taste is total caramel and sweetnes with a nice warming finish. Honestly I am impressed that this beer is from budweiser but it is not going to earn it extra points.

UPDATED: MAR 8, 2008 I had read reviews of this beer and it prevented me from buying it....I gave in..I honestly think some of these people are lying...First off, I taste NO CORN, I do not think any was used.....It is not "Golden" either.....Im not a huge fan of this brewery, just to note......I think some on here are trying to compare it to the original lager or just snobes against Budweiser, we need to be open minded on here.....Now, for rating it as a doppelbock, this is actually pretty good....Pours a nice dark amber color with very nice off-white head that has decient retention....Im drinking it now.....has laced the glass....Aroma of sweet malt with a light dark roast aroma as well....Flavor is sweet and malty, and ofcoarse, some dark roast....this beer is nicely carbonated as well, has some body to it.......This is a good beer, and the best I have tried from Budweiser......this should be the beer we buy off the shelves on a regular basis....but they would lose money due to the majority of the world prefering beer with no flavor.....so sad......also, as a note, why is the color of the beer in the picture golden when this is a dark amber?????
