300ml bottle. Boring, but better than a standard Bud. Straw coloured with a creamy white head; soft texture with low carbonation; grassy hop aroma; smooth and mellow flavour; sweetish finish with just a hint of cardboard. Refreshing.

Bottled. A golden beer with a disappearing off white head. Smells of sweetcorn water. Sweet, corny and sickly in the mouth with barely any depth of flavour. Even poorer than expected.

Nov 2010: This beer is brewed for the UK market only (I am lead to believe), God knows where it is actually produced. Clear 300ml bottle, the cap already promised to a BA in the US. ’jermsumm’ gets it in my next package. The brew number is a special one; it means something to a lot of British people, which is obviously why Bud choose 66. When a Brit hears the number 66 it reminds him of different things, depending on age and education. Let me explain: 1066 The Battle of Hastings, where we defeated an invading French army: 1666 The Great Fire of London, 1966 When England won the football World Cup for the first and only time, or the iconic Route 66 from Chicago to LA: However, a number between 65 and 67 is what it’ll mean to most who buy this beer (if they can count that high). I poured the beer into a Hoegaarden Crand Cru stemmed tulip glass to give it some class (this failed to have the desired effect). It looked like a regular lager/pilsner/helles, golden clear, clean and bright. The white head leaving before it had fully arrived, a trait I hate. You’ll not be suprised to hear the beer had very little aroma or taste, in fact it reminded me of fizzy water such was its characterless, gassy, flavourless make-up. Perhaps I’m being unkind here, hey, no I’m not, this beer is terrible to the core (if it had a core to be terrible too). There was a mini hint of sweetness from something, but I couldn’t detect any hop, malt or yeast involvement what-so-ever it this so called brew. Most likely the worst beer I’ve ever reviewed since joining this site. My son-in-law bought me this on his first anniversary of his marriage to my daughter, can’t wait for next years treat!

UPDATED: FEB 29, 2012 Bottle @ Frankie & Benny’s, Stoke-on-Trent. Very pale yellow - almost clear white in places, like a watered down Bud. No head. Tastes...like a watered down Bud. Hint of bitterness that disappears quickly. No aftertaste. A slight sweet quality stops it from being completely awful. Thin. High carbonation. Really nothing in the nose at all. Certainly not the worst thing I’ve ever drunk but still very poor. The word "light" seems to be a selling point for so many American lagers, which I just can’t understand.

Bottle 300ml. clear glass.

Clear medium yellow colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, vegetables, cardboard, cooked corn - corn, light molasses. Flavour is light moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average duration. Body is light to medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft. [20111211]

330ml bottle. Swigged from the bottle in a club so not one of my fairer rates but that’s how it goes. Corn, grain & light malts with grassy, lemony hops in the finish. Light body, relatively low carbonation & a short length bitterness. Expectedly straighforward but an inoffensive & no fuss, easily sinkable lager.

300ml bottle. Pours gold with no head. Aroma is corn with a touch of lemon. Taste has soapy lemon and lime to start. Watery finish. Some corn on the aftertaste.

Bottle. Pours a pale gold colour with no head and not much carbonation. No real aroma, the taste is sweet and watery.

330ml bottle left after a party. Aroma of lingering fart. Urine yellow. stale cooked cabbage flavour. Insipid and not nice.

Bottle, Morrisons Grimsby. Gold, thin shortlived white head and low condition. Low sweet malt fruitiness in the nose, Thin and sweet in the mouth with a background mineral note, briefly sweet finish.

Bottle at a house party in London. Pours clear, light gold with a fizzy, white head. Cereal grain aroma. I should note, this beer was served well below the optimal temperature, that ice-cold temperature whereby your senses are numbed by the coldness and the offensiveness of the beer is lessened. My senses were all too acute during this drinking. It tasted like artifically sweet cereal/malt water. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Fairly sweet finish, basically no bitterness, some sweet bread, cereal, mild grain. Really not good. (I’ll rate this again if it ever pops up cold at another house party, but I sure ain’t gonna pay for it.)
