( on tap in the Schweizerhaus in Wien ): perfect golden colour, malty and sweet, not too bitter, not as heavily carbonated as most pilseners, taste it at the Schweizerhaus beergarden with a "stelze" and you’ll love it

Shame on A-B for taking the name to label as piss water. My favorite pilsner (followed by Urquell and Staropramen).

UPDATED: APR 27, 2003 Bottled: Golden colour. Medium lasting head. Sweetish and malty aroma. Flavour is sweet and malty as well, with some fruity accents. Nice bitterness in the end.

UPDATED: FEB 6, 2010 Can 500 ml
Appearance Bright golen with hint of pale sun, large white firm for lager head. Some lace shown but not much. 3+
Aroma Grassy soft malts with leafy hop of Saaz. Good.
Taste Mid light bodied, clean approach, minereal follow up. Good clean lager , not really a Boheman Pils more of Bohemian pale lager. Quiet decent.

It is hard to believe that this beer shares its name with American Budweiser. Lives up tp the rest of the Czech pilsners.

I’ve been told that this is nothing special despite the reputation, and I guess thats true, but it was a bit better than I expected. Rerate: Color was a bright gold with a moderate white fizzy head. Despite a bit of a bite on the tongue, it wasn’t heavily carbonated. First sampling was skunky but the sixer I have now is not. The aroma is tingly with spicy grassy hops, and a little buttery note (consistent with my previous tasting). Nicely balanced beer with a medium bodied slightly buttery malt profile and a definite bitterness. Fairly clean except for the diacetyl. I’d buy it again.

Clear golden color. Somewhat skunky aroma. It’s an average pilsner that’s about it, not quite as good as Pilsner Urquell and not quite as bad as Heineken.

Bottle. Pale golden yellow with a white laced head and some rising bubbles. Classic skunk aroma with a yeasty flavor.

Tastes like no other pilsener. Every time I have drunken this, it has had this strange (not bad) flavour, which I cannot identify. An interesting pilsener, not as refreshing as many others, but funnier.
