Not a bad brew. Wanted to do a little research into my family’s Czech roots. How better than by drinking beer? I’d drink it again. Pretty decent stuff.

This really is a great lager beer. Light dusty nose, gold color, low tight head. Lemony flavors followed by a classy bitterness. Great balance and a clean palette.

Ha. No comparison between Bud and Budvar. If these two beers were on Celebrity Boxing, Budvar would pummel the everliving crap out of Bud, then smash the can on it’s forehead. Then it’d fight Adolphus Busch, beat his ass, rampage through the Bud factory in St. Louis and beat ass all the way through. Every last bottling machine would be a smouldering heap, the brewing tanks, nothing but charred smoking rubble, and as the piece de resistance, it’d set fire to the whole operation using those beechwood chips as a starter. I think this is the best pilsener in the world. A standard of what all pilseners should taste, smell, and look like. Considering it’s such a delicate style, it may be the best beer in the world.

UPDATED: MAY 7, 2004 (500ml Bottle) It takes the Czechs to make an American icon better! I definitely enjoyed how this one went down.Pours a medium, white head with lively carbonation and a golden body. Slight hop nose. Delicious, full malt flavours with a hoppy finish. Above average.

Fine Saaz hop essence greets the nose...Color a rich gold with medium head and clingy ringed lace...Flavor dominated by the crisp hoppiness...Malt adds subtle sweetness but adds more to the body than to taste...Carbonation is suitably controlled, and the finish features the signature Saaz spiciness...Body is medium-light and acceptable, but not providing fullness found in some other pilseners...Still, this is very enjoyable and flavorful stuff...Now, if only all products bearing the Budweiser were of this quality...Oh, to dream...

UPDATED: FEB 22, 2003 yellow but topped with a solid lathering white top..aroma was of malt extract and raw cereal...real malty..cereal..grains..the best before date was 8/02..i drank it in almost 12/02..maybe it made a difference..if it did, it was probably for the better knowing my antilust for pilsners..very grainy..very buttery..malty..Tastes like a young extract brew..but its a hell of a lot better than american standards..so whatever.

As close to perfection as it gets. All other pilseners must be judged by this one. Clean, hoppy aroma combines with a deep golden hue. Spicy, hoppy taste with an unbelievably well rounded, smooth palate. The pieces come together perfectly on this one.

The czech equivalent of Budweiser is definitely much better than the U.S. version, for me it would be a summer brew.
