I had this on tap in Germany. I thought it was a fairly good beer. Went down smooth.

Bottle. Pale gold with a nice dense off white head. Nose is skunky. Taste is skunky with a good amount of malt in the flavor. There is a good clean taste her that is nice. There is some cardboard on the finish. Really this is a nice beer. The only detracting thing about this beer is the slightly cardboard taste.

Clear golden color with a thin, diminishing white head. Strong aroma of malt with citrus and hops notes. Very good toasty, grainy malt flavor with subtle hops and a slightly bitter finish. Light to medium body, soft carbonation. While not up to the standards of Urquell and Na Zdravi, Czechvar is very good nonetheless, I like its malt flavor a lot.

Crystal clear golden color with a small white head that quickly dissipated. Sweet malt and hop aroma. Slightly sweet malt flavor that has a nice hoppy bitterness to it. A little thin on the palate but overall a solid pilsener.

I cannot get enough of this one, nice bitterish taste, not too bubbly. A beer that tastes like the beers tasted let’s say hindred years ago. A true original among the beers. LOVE IT!

UPDATED: MAR 17, 2013 Draught. A gold/urine coloured lager with an oversweet taste. The aroma is quite hoppy and sticky but again too sweet. Its reputation is better than its delivery.Score 2.4

I was wondering why this tasted hella flat and nasty, probally cuz it expired June 2003 and its October 2004. Fuck i hope i dont get sick drinking this shit. I’ll try looking out next time for a good one cuz i cant accurately speak on it in this condition.

12 oz bottle: Pours a golen yellow with a small white head. A very crisp spicy taste. Second only to pilsner urquell.

(Bottle) It shows a beautiful golden colour, surely darker than other average pilsner. Aroma is hoppy, flowery, with a note of sweet malt. Taste is light malty, light honey flavor. A bit empty, less malty and hoppy than in the past, but still a good "everyday" beer.

My favorite beer of all time. After living in Prague for a while, it became necessary to make a pilgrimage to Ceske Budejovice, where it’s brewed. We missed the tour but got to have some of the freshest, best-tasting beer I’ve ever had. Crisp, refreshing, purely enjoyable. ’Czechvar’ is available in the US, and it just doesn’t seem the same. Next time you’re in central Europe, though, seek out the Budejovicky Budvar: guaranteed to make you think twice about all those Belgian beers you’ve been paying extra money for back home.
