Famous name, but nowadays an ordinary beer. It is probably time to ask ourselves why well known beers from the former East are not so good anymore like in the time of communism.

UPDATED: JAN 1, 2015 0,5 l bottle. Clear, golden yellow with a small, soapy, white head. Weak, grassy aroma with hints of cereals and grass. Slightly bitter taste of grass, hay and cereals. Thin body, flat carbonation, short and only slightly bitter finish. Very thin, slightly watery with very little aroma and taste. Solid pilsener and good thirst quencher but still boring.

12 oz bottle into a pint glass. A: Pours a golden straw color. There isn’t much head - about a fingers worth, white color, and with poor retention. It isn’t exactly much to look at, but it has a nice color. S: Lightstruck, sadly. Less sadly, it’s not irredeemably lightstruck. There are some nicely sweet malt notes (not overdone) along with a slight grassy tickle. Damn green bottles, this aroma could have been something good without the skunk. T: Since it’s a pilsner, it’s fairly simplistic. And that’s forgivable. It starts with sweet malt and a faint bubblegum note, while the finish is bitter and grassy just as I like it. It’s really hitting the spot in all the right ways. M: It’s a bit on the sweet side, but the finishing bitterness cleanses the palate nicely. That, and the fizzy carbonation. It might be 5% less drinkable than I like from the style, but who cares? O: Give me a pitcher of this, and I’ll be set...for about 15 minutes. Thank cripes this comes in cans too, because green bottles. In the right mood and setting, I’d drink this over BCBS even.

Pale golden color, clear; lasting white head - aroma: grains, cereals, some grassy hops - taste is slightly sweet and slightly bitter - light to medium body, thin to oily texture, average carbonation - long grainy finish.

I’m confused by the name game on the can. Beer is a bit of a let down. Almost lifeless in its hopping & the finish lacks that pilsner smack to the mouth that I enjoy. Feels like this can is old, sitting in boats & warehouses & shelves while other more exciting beer is being brewed elsewhere.

Blonde pale légčrement dorée, beaucoup de bulle, léger col de mousse blanche. Nez de malts et de miel. Bouche maltée, légčrement houblonnée, épicée. Gentille amertume, bien sucrée. Buvable sans plus...

Golden clear. Minimal and brief head. Light floral and grass aroma. Bitterness is nearly nice. Thin and maybe oily texture. Does it finish at all?

Bottle. Pours golden with small white head. Nice grassy hops, malt and skunk(green bottle) in aroma. Taste too malty sweet, low bitterness, thin shade of hops. Due to its maltiness quite heavy to drink. Really, years ago it was much better!
