Clear golden with a 4-finger head that quickly settles into a somewhat lasting quarter-inch ring. Initial aroma is pure skunk; later fades to some corn, honey and grainy grass. Flavor is similar, disappointingly more skunk-dominated than the smell. Light-medium body is smooth crisp and tingly. Had the Budvar version on draft in Europe about 15 years ago and thought it was pretty good, so gave the rating a few more points than otherwise would. Can’t recommend the green bottled version though. Tweety (343), Vancouver, Washington, USA

The real budweiser is a thoroughly enjoyable classic Bohemian pilsner, with a bit of sweetness. travita (1910), Frisco, Texas, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Apr 25, 2008 Yellow straw color with a thin head. Simple brew with not much complexity. Hop bitterness is lot and it has some malty character. Distinct reminisce of Budweiser but somewhat better. gam (1103), brisbane, Australia

Bottle green 500ml, extract of wort 12%
Appearance:Pours nice deep, classically Bohemian Pilsener body in its colour, with very nice soft body carbonation. Head is medium initially, than decreases to small, gives some considerable traces of lacing. Body is shiny and perfectly clear without any sediment. Body colour is deep golden, intensive and essential but not as carbonated as Budweiser Budvar 10%.
Aroma:Very nice, strong, aromatic herbal and citrusy notes of Zatec hops. Great, fat malted body, medium to full. Barley, grainy, crispy, bisquity, juicy, even a bit oily, sweet aroma. Very pleasant stuff. There is all you would expect from a good Bohemian Pilsener style.
Flavour:Front is aromatic, flowery, grassy and citrusy, refreshing. Than the bitterness comes through your tongue and sticks to your palate. Later on there is this wonderfull, aromatic, herbal, hoppy nise and no skunkness at all. Fat in malt, medium to full bodied, grainy, crispy, grapefruit, lemon and lime hints. No additional sugar but there is a natural sweetness from malt, being almoust syrupy like and perfectly balanced with hoppy bitterness.
Palate:Body is medium to full, texture is dry, with strong bitterness on palate due to sharp hoppyness, finish feel is citrusy, fat in malt, long, some hints of chalkyness but again dominated by hops. There is no place for alcohol in perception. Davyw79 (24), Co. Meath, Ireland

As I recall, this was a typical czech pilsner with hopp and bitter tones.
