Draft at Bull and Castle, Dublin. Pour was pale golden color, slight true yellow-ness to it, but not much. Head was pretty generous initially but subsided. The aroma was grainy, bready, slight grassiness. The flavor followed suit, somewhat of a pale lager, yet retaining some aspects of true pilsner character. Light in the flavor, light in the mouthfeel, better than US Bud (no obvious adjunct presence to me), but certainly not a top notch Pilsner.

Draft in Prague poured out in a Budvar glass mug. Clear golden colour with a medium white head, good lacing. Better than macros, similar to Urquell.

Very good pilsener, less bitter than Urquel. Very refreshing, good aftertaste.

Rerate in Prague: Fresh and malty, with very nice hops in aroma and flavor. (original) 33cl bottle from Systembolaget. Clear gold with a small, unstable head. Aroma was an initial rush of grassy, tangy, earthy hops, and then sweet caramel and bread. Malt dominates, with just enough hops to keep it from being overly sweet, but the hop flavor doesnt seem assertive to me. Slight betterness actually leaves a long but subtle finish, which is suprising. It’s well balanced and delicate, with a light body and smooth carbonation. Being an American, I had to try this in Europe and see if it was better than Budweiser, and it certainly is, but it’s nothing special for a Czech pilsner. Urquell still wins in my book.

Bottle, label is Czechvar comes with green bottle topped with nice gold foil. Pours a clear golden with thin white head. Aroma came out faintly oxidized, but very grassy and slightly herby. Body is light and fizzy. Flavor is lightly bitter, with some bready malts, lots of grassy hops. Finish is dry, lightly bitter, fairly clean and short. Not bad at all.

12oz bottle. funny to say i got this from an AB wholesaler. ha! nice golden color is clear and clean. white frothy head forms about one finger tall and thins out fast. nose was present from the moment the bottle opened. mostly saaz hops, but plenty of grass and herbs. crisp and smooth but a little thin overall. very drinkable, and quite refreshing. i think i’ll stick with urquell when i want my pilsner fix.

Bottle. Got this as an extra in trade. Aroma is all toasty malts with maybe a hint at floral hops. Pours a clear golden yellow white foamy head. Flavor is all bready toasty malts though sweet. Palate is ok finishes relatively clean. Overall, not too bad.
