Thinking my review of pilsner urquell is now over rated after drinking this very good LAGER, yes lager and lager this good is good. I love lager and this is a great lager whatever beer snobs think. Great sweetness and delicate hops shine through unlike the bottle of meaty savoury Urquell and the dryness of Staropramen. 500ml bottle, golden, floral, sweet and after taste of slight bitterness. Lovely fizzy carbonated, refreshing lager lovlieness and what’s wrong with that? Its not anywhere near the best beer in the world, it’s no Goose Island IPA but for time and a place comeback and drink me lager this is yer beer.

Bottle. Clear golden color with small & fast-disappearing head. Very delicate and pleasant aroma of grass and citrus notes, flowers (true Saaz hops). Taste is bitter-sweet, very well balanced. Aftertaste is thin and delicate. Nice example of lager.

Bottle. One of the best quality Czech lagers. Complex bitter-sweet, leaving subtle hoppy palate. Medium body. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

500ml can served in an ordinary glass. A: Pours a clear yellow to orange (golden) color forming a one to two fingers bubbled and aired white head. Medium retention and few lacings formed and left in the glass S: Refreshing in the nose. Strong notes of Saaz hops which is grassy and citrus. Notes of sweet grains T: Refreshing in the mouth too. Grainy upfront. Pale malts and caramel malts. Strong notes of Saaz hops. Again, grassy and citrus. In overall, a dry taste with a nice hops bitterness punch M: Light body and good carbonation. Grassy and lemony aftertaste O: Very good drinkability. Not as good as Urquell, but still a classic Czech Pilsener [ BA Review @ 2/19/2010 ]

Pours clear straw with a short, short-lived white head, minimal lacing (3/5). Nose is pale malt and grassy hops (6/10). Taste is mild to moderate sweet followed by mild bitter (7/10). Light crisp body, prickly carbonation dropping to moderate, with a dry bitter finish (3/5). As lagers go, not bad at all. The Czech pilsner is light, crisp, and dry, with none of the rice or corn adjunct flavours that make North American lagers so utterly vile. You can see the family resemblance, sure - but this is the successful cousin, not the unemployable layabout in the wife beater. I could see drinking a very large number of these under a tent somewhere, preferably with live music and large chunks of some mammal or other being singed over open flame. Needs to be drunk cold and quick - it does not improve with warming, or if one lets the carbonation drop. (12/20)

0.5l bottle from Tesco Filakovo (Slovakia). Medium white head with neutral sourish aroma, maybe some bread. Minimal sour taste. Quickly vanishing. The beer itself is a balance of moderate bitterness and maltiness. Everything is very moderate in this beer, almost tasteless, I would say. Palate is moderate, too. I usually like that, but this time it is not convincing. Aftertaste is neutral. Neutral watery core lager taste. Maybe maltiness is a bit more present. In he end, some honey shows up. Strange, because this is a very neutral beer, very moderate taste, on the brink of becoming boring, but sort of well composed and balanced. No mistakes but not much soul either. Still kind of acceptable.

Very fresh and light pilsner, not bitter not too sweet. With medium body it is my favorite pilsner.
