UPDATED: JUL 21, 2009 Draft, at the St. Petersburg, Russia airport lounge, May, 2004. Now this is what an "original pilsner" should taste like, not the poor, skunked bottle I rated last summer. Fresh from a well-maintained tap, it’s a fine-looking beer, gold color, with a good head. A golden malt flavor, too, but just mellow enough to let a wonderfully delicate floral hop character come through. The best beer I’d had after a week of standard Russian pale lagers.
And yet, I can see a bit of the flavor lineage to the American Budweiser... let’s just say the St. Louis product is severely de-volved from the prototype.
Original rating: Bottled. Oooh, looks like my first taste of this classic brew is from a skunked bottle. Still, it has a great spicy hop nose and a decent head. I almost got kind of an orangey hop taste. It’s simply more of a beer taste. I’ll hope to try this again soon and re-rate it.

From can. Clear golden. Dense, but slowly diminishing, head and lacing. Superb and refined aroma of continental hops, with some malt sweetness. Flowerfields and newly mowed lawn. Less hops and less complexity in taste. Good drinkability.

Clear gold, medium white head. Hop and "big lager" on the nose. Bitter sweet with a watered down finish. Overcarbonated. I swear this was good last time, not so much now.

This stuff is like KFC: I get a weird hankering for it about once every five years, and then I remember why I haven’t had it in five years. Nose is grass, grain and skunk. Taste is the same. Finish is ambiguously dry. It’s better than its bastard son, but that’s about it.

Bottle. Clear golden with a small head. Skunky and grainy aroma. Sweetish, pale malt and grassy flavors, mild herbal bitterness. Light-medium bodied. Feels not fresh though BB 04/15.

Bottle, clear pour, no head, tastes like budweiser,so not much of a taste or nose at all, just light easy drinking lager.

From the cask came a golden brew with a thin white head. Subtle malt and hop aromas flavors make this lager very drinkable.

Bottle. Dark golden yellow appearance, large bubbles, average white head. A standard pilsner hops taste, which makes it nicely bitter, with a grass and malt aroma

Een gewoon pilsbiertje waar er zoveel van zijn, ik vind het niet zo speciaal. Dan zijn er veel betere
