COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Prémiový tmavý ležák doplňuje tradiční nabídku piva z pivovaru Budějovický Budvar, n. p. od roku 2004. Je vyroben stejným postupem jako originální světlý ležák, za použití nejvybranějšího žateckého chmele, moravského sladu, vody čerpané ze 300 m hlubokých artéských studní a tří druhů speciálních barevných ječných sladů: mnichovského, karamelového a praženého.

Charakterizuje jej výrazně tmavá barva, suchá, jemně hořká karamelová chuť bez dominance sladkosti. Vůně je delikátní po praženém sladu.

50 cl bottle from Kaufland, served in a tulip. Dark brown, clear, with medium, tan, long lasting head. Aroma is roasted malts, light toasted, earthy, faint hoppy. Body is medium, carbonation is soft. Taste is medium sweet, low to medium bitter, texture is watery to oily.

Bottle, I think picked up at the foreign foods shop in Cricklewood. Dark brown in colour, ruddy. Quite dry, ashy bitterness, clean palate. Pleasant but nothing overly exciting.

toast, medium bitterness, thin feel, astringent. A bit disappointing. I’ve had store-brand dark lagers that were more drinkable than this.

Bottle - Clear dark reddish brown colour, medium sized beige head with average retention. Roasted malt aromas, some chocolate, red fruits, some flowery hops. Taste is sweet malty, some caramel, chocolate, flowery and herbal hops. Light to medium body, average carbonation, dry roasted finish. A good dark lager.

Bursztynowo-rubinowe klarowne, drobna piana ecru, zostaje obrączka tylko. Aromat karmel, nuty kawy, smak wytrawny, zaznaczona goryczka, lekka palonosc na finiszu. Wysokie nasycenie. Spodziewałem się nudnego tmave a jest raczej schwartz...

Faint aroma of roasted malts. Very dark, almost black, (but perhaps it was the light). Thin but lingering creamy head. Light to medium-bodied. Mild and nicely balanced taste - this is a pleasant and thought out beer, if a bit too unobtrusive. Refreshing, and leaves you ready to open the next one.

On tap at Highlander Pub (Ottawa, ON). Black body with brown glints and a thin beige creamy head. Good malty aroma with hoppy and chocolate hints. Its well balanced malty/hoppy taste carries chocolate and nutty notes. Ends with a decent bittersweet finish. Good example of Tmavý.
