Prémiový tmavý ležák doplňuje tradiční nabídku piva z pivovaru Budějovický Budvar, n. p. od roku 2004. Je vyroben stejným postupem jako originální světlý ležák, za použití nejvybranějšího žateckého chmele, moravského sladu, vody čerpané ze 300 m hlubokých artéských studní a tří druhů speciálních barevných ječných sladů: mnichovského, karamelového a praženého.

Charakterizuje jej výrazně tmavá barva, suchá, jemně hořká karamelová chuť bez dominance sladkosti. Vůně je delikátní po praženém sladu.

50cl bottle. Pours opaque black with a good head, most of which disappears quickly. The nose has chocolate and some smokiness. The taste has lots of chocolate and maybe some grapes. The palate has a rich texture, quite a big structure and it is quite clean. Overall, a very rich but balanced beer. Why do they have to put ’budweiser’ on the bottle? It doesn’t make sense.

Bottle. Pours dark brown, with a creamy head quickly receding head. The aroma is very pleasant but not overpowering, with sweet caramel malt, light notes of smoke and a very light hint of the saaz hops in use. Flavour is of sweet, lightly roasted malts and some smoke that sticks in the finish.

Light tan head, fades quickly, over a dark mahogany beer. Smells predominantly of the malts, toastiness with chocolate and caramel but there is also some spice there from the hops. Medium body with up front flavours from the hops dominating with the sweeter malt flavour showing up later. Nice easy drinking beer, I’d buy it again.

Bottle. Dark brown, big tanned head. Smells of smoke, chocolate and roasted malts. Taste is smokey with hints of tar. Medium malty. Small amounts of sweetness. Good dry feel. Finish is well bitter with hops.

Nice balance, some sweetness and a strong hint of liquorice. Goes down easily, not overly complex but certainly a good beer.

Bottle 500ml. Great, well balanced dunkel. Aromas of chocolate, caramel, and coffee. Taste is sweet, with light bitterness. Palate is oily, with a thin-to-medium body. Dark brown with a frothy head.

Bottle. Dark brown color, almost black. Nice, creamy head. Slightly metallic aroma at first which turns into a slightly chocolate/licorice kind of malty aroma. Good mouthfeel, very drinkable. Fruity flavor, with some chocolaty malts, some roasty notes and a hint of metallicness. Not bad.

500ml bottle, from CBA, Hungary. Fine sweet, chocolate and caramell smell, but taste isn’t harmonic, isn’t sweet at all. It is not problem, but not harmonic. Medium tasted, dark brown beer with correct foam and Co2. Sometimes earthy Saaz hop is too strong for this beer, especially at first, and aftertaste.
