COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Prémiový tmavý ležák doplňuje tradiční nabídku piva z pivovaru Budějovický Budvar, n. p. od roku 2004. Je vyroben stejným postupem jako originální světlý ležák, za použití nejvybranějšího žateckého chmele, moravského sladu, vody čerpané ze 300 m hlubokých artéských studní a tří druhů speciálních barevných ječných sladů: mnichovského, karamelového a praženého.

Charakterizuje jej výrazně tmavá barva, suchá, jemně hořká karamelová chuť bez dominance sladkosti. Vůně je delikátní po praženém sladu.

UPDATED: MAY 18, 2011 Áttetsző sötétbarna hozzá a természetesen világosbarna hab. Illata édes malátás. (Ízre nem édes.) Megkóstolva meglepően vékony sör kerül a nyelvünkre barna létére. De nem gond mert kellemes harmonikus, kávés, pörkölt, hamus. Karakteres maláta komponens. Komlós keserű, lágy rövid utóízzel. Mindent egybevetve jó sör.

UPDATED: APR 12, 2014 Bottle @ The Crystal Palace JDW & a present. Grassy flowery malt aroma. Very dark brown colour with a good beige head. Caramel coffee malt flavour. Watery texture. Average.

33cl bottle from a local supermarket. It pours an almost pitch black liquid with some amber-ruby reflections, and with a medium beige head that dissipates and leaves no lacing. The aroma is very nice, mostly malty, with chocolate notes and a brandy like smell. It tastes likewise, sweet, with a light and pleasant hoppiness that partners with a coffee-like aftertaste, ending dry. Carbonation is soft, as it is the bitterness. While it is small-medium bodied and might have a little watery hint, It leaves a pleasant parfum in your mouth. Relaxing and refreshing dunkel with a very nice presentation (but no personalized crown cap).

Pours a dark ruby brown color with a small longlasting off-white head. Had a slightly roasted sweetish malty caramel aroma. Roasted malty sweetish bready caramel flavor. Has a sweetish malty caramel finish.

Dark ruby-brown. Small off-white creamy head that dies down quickly but leaves a thin layer of bubbles on top. Plenty of lacing left behind, but in sheets. Big malt and hop aroma. Much like the regular pils they offer with a bit of roastiness mixed in. Dry and sweet with a hop bitterness left over. Quite a good dark lager.

330 ml bottle. Dark brown and clear. Small off-white fine-laced head. Soft nutty malt aroma. Hints of chocolade and brownies. Roasted malt flavours with a light smoky note. Caramel and a little ash. Velvety texture, but crisp and with a nice refreshing hop bitterness. Very drinkable.

500ml bottle as Budejovicky Budvar Imported Dark Lager. Pours a deep, dark chestnut, with a large beige head, passable retention and good lacing. An alluring herbal, forest aroma greets the nose, with some dark malt notes coming through. Spicy herbal hops start it off, with a smooth, tannin-dominant middle section and a lasting caramel finish. A nice example of quality dark lager. Good stuff.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown with a large, thick, beige head. Aroma is weak, some roasted malts and some soapiness. Flavor is fortunately nothing like that. Roasted malts, coffee, salty liquorice - quite a lot of it. Palate is medium and carbonated. Really made me want to have it with some good food. Maybe a hot tomato-sauce based stew?

bottle@home: yep, the other Budweiser, dark brown with white head, medium sweet, malt, raisins, burned toast & caramel, somewhat average but satisfactory
