Prémiový tmavý ležák doplňuje tradiční nabídku piva z pivovaru Budějovický Budvar, n. p. od roku 2004. Je vyroben stejným postupem jako originální světlý ležák, za použití nejvybranějšího žateckého chmele, moravského sladu, vody čerpané ze 300 m hlubokých artéských studní a tří druhů speciálních barevných ječných sladů: mnichovského, karamelového a praženého.

Charakterizuje jej výrazně tmavá barva, suchá, jemně hořká karamelová chuť bez dominance sladkosti. Vůně je delikátní po praženém sladu.

Bottle from an "Auchan", Bp. Nice appearanced dunkel with a dark brown/ruby colour and beige, creamy and laceing head on its top. The smell is of toffee and grass. A smooth mouthfeel escorts its sweet and toffee-liked flavour. The aroma is of caramell malt and pleasant grassy/spicy hops with light yeasty undertones in the back. The finish is toasty, spicy and light dry. Very enjoyable.

On tap at U Medvidku, Prague on 11 July 2010. Crystal clear deep red-black with thick lowering creamy foam head giving some frothy lacing. Caramel malt in aroma; some citric notes and a beautiful blend of herb, grass and spice plays equally on the tastebuds. A bitter kick occurs when taking larger sips or gulps. This bitterness rests on the roof of the mouth and lingers in what I found to be a satisfying finish. Zingy mouthfeel. A very pleasant tmavý indeer, and incredibly easy drinking. UK drinkers may think of Goachers’ Mild on its best form at Maidstone.

All-Bar-One, London Pours a cola black body, tan head. Whiff of roasted/burnt malts on the nose, some sweet colar-like notes. Body is quite lean with high carbonation giving the beer a drying, somewhat astringent palate. Coffee, smokey, bitter chocolate and cola sweetness on the body. Finishes bone dry, quite bitter. Very nice.

Bottle. Very dark brown beer with a nice off-white head. Weak aroma of roasted malt and bitter hops. Some sweetness of dried fruit and coffee malt in the flavour with a light bitter chocolate taste towards the end. Not wonderful by any means but quite enjoyable.

Bottle 33cl. A very dark beer with a nice head. Smell is on caramel and hop. Aroma is amasing on toasted and roasted malt, finish is bitter and long but dry. As the beer is less alcoholic and not sweet the brown aroma can be fully tasted and appreciated. Nice Munich malt and roasted barley flavor, a bit creamy. Very nice beer, well balanced, a pleasure.

On tap at the Fighting Cocks, Moseley. Looks beautiful, with a nice contrast between the opaque body, and soft, white, meringue-like topping. Lovely in the mush, with a smooth, choc flavour, and pepper hint. Easy drinking.
