3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20 LookMomNoHands (578) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - OCT 31, 2011
500 ml. bottle from the supermarket. Nearly black colour with dark brown hues. Small, creamy tanned head that fades quickly. From the aroma I get bitter chocolate, coffee and some caramel notes. Medium sweetness with notes of roasted grain, medium, creamy palate with a lively carbonation. Nice, roasted bitterness in the finish. Short finish. I like this no-nonsence Czech dunkel. Dirt cheap as well.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 tfredvik (375) - Oslo, NORWAY - OCT 20, 2011
Cool, I didn’t even know that there was a dark Budweiser Budvar! And dark it is: dark Coke brown with a red tint. The long-lived, large head is light brown, and laces the glass very well. Moderate malty and light hoppy aroma, I get chocolate, coffee and roasted notes. The taste isn’t as sweet as the aroma led me to believe, and there is a nice light bitterness in the rather short finish, The flavours are chocolate and coffee and also smoke. Light to medium body, watery to oily texture and medium carbonation. A nice dunkel!
