Prémiový tmavý ležák doplňuje tradiční nabídku piva z pivovaru Budějovický Budvar, n. p. od roku 2004. Je vyroben stejným postupem jako originální světlý ležák, za použití nejvybranějšího žateckého chmele, moravského sladu, vody čerpané ze 300 m hlubokých artéských studní a tří druhů speciálních barevných ječných sladů: mnichovského, karamelového a praženého.

Charakterizuje jej výrazně tmavá barva, suchá, jemně hořká karamelová chuť bez dominance sladkosti. Vůně je delikátní po praženém sladu.

Flasche 33cl.

UPDATED: DEC 26, 2012 Deep brown topped by a light creamy head. The nose is rich and toasty with a caramel, vanilla and chocolate notes including roasted malt aroma. It gives a bitter taste with spicy and herbal flavour. Body is medium, carbon high. Coffee and chocolate with dark fruits palate. Bitter aftertaste. B@H

from bottle. Seems dark enough even through bottle, very pleasant, mild hops aroma, very interesting hops. Not grassy, not herbal or very aromatic but the combination of... weird but very pleasant. Taste is pleasant light sweet plus medium bitter, more from roasted malt. Flavor reminds roasted rye bread plus Bohemian pilsner. I haven’t tried dunkels for long time and his seems very solid. Medium bodied, a bit velvet texture, seems medium to high carbonated, dry finish. Pleasant.

Large tan head over dark body with ruby highlights. Aroma of roast, dark chocolate, and coffee. Quite pleasing. Taste of roast and nuts, light body. More roast and some espresso in the palate. On the whole this is a bit of a one-dimensional beer (big roast and little anything else) but it does that one dimension well.

Malt heavy lager, that must be a pale imitation of the original budvar version.

500ml bottle. Deep mahogany body with a big mocha head, small bubbles and good retention, but not much lacing. Aroma is hoppy, some burned caramel, coffee and vanilla. Flavour of lots of coffee, malt bitterness and yes, hops. No sweetness and low carbonation. Good, but was expecting more.
