3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
500ml bottle, from CBA, Hungary. Fine sweet, chocolate and caramell smell, but taste isn’t harmonic, isn’t sweet at all. It is not problem, but not harmonic. Medium tasted, dark brown beer with correct foam and Co2. Sometimes earthy Saaz hop is too strong for this beer, especially at first, and aftertaste.

Взял по акции за полцены. Ожидал того, что и получил. Обычный тёмный лагер. Скучно.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
33cl bottle from a local supermarket. It pours an almost pitch black liquid with some amber-ruby reflections, and with a medium beige head that dissipates and leaves no lacing. The aroma is very nice, mostly malty, with chocolate notes and a brandy like smell. It tastes likewise, sweet, with a light and pleasant hoppiness that partners with a coffee-like aftertaste, ending dry. Carbonation is soft, as it is the bitterness. While it is small-medium bodied and might have a little watery hint, It leaves a pleasant parfum in your mouth. Relaxing and refreshing dunkel with a very nice presentation (but no personalized crown cap).

(Bottle BB 07/06/08) Roasted malty and caramel aroma. Dark red brown colour and large, light brownish head with fair/good lacing. Roasted malty, caramel and coffee flavour with a hint of licorice. Lively carbonated, chalky and medium-bodied palate. Tasty, well-balanced brew! 09/08/07

2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Very dark beer, with a medium beige head. Not really a strong smell, just some hints of coffee malts. Taste is coffee and wood, but very short, and a light body. Disappointing for me.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Slightly sweet dark lager. Not remarkable by any means, but much better than the run-of-the-mill products find everywhere in the world. Good with Chech food.

Budweiser is not very well liked by many beer lovers. But, I must contest that this Budvar Ceske Dark Lager is AMAZING for a regular everyday drinking beer. Dark, delicious, and refreshing. Fantastic dark lager!!

Bottle @ Cardinal, Stavanger. Deep brown in color with a nice tan head. Aromas full of caramel, toastiness, faint vanilla and some chocolate. Flavors of caramell and some chocolate and coffee. Nice bitterness. Nice level of diacetyl. Medium in body. Great aftertaste.

My first dunkel - a nice pint. Light bodied, frothily carbonated lagerness with biscuity, roasted malt, and the soft Saaz bitterness on the palate - like a cross between a stout and a pilsener. Dry, refreshing, drinkable. Will have to try more dunkels to see how this compares but works for me.
