aracauna (2238), Georgia, USA Apr 12, 2008 This is, quite frankly, bizarre. I both like it an hate it. There’s no real beer flavor here. Budweiser is pretty bland to start with and the Clamato is far from bland. It’s a little too salty and the clam juice is a bit offputting for a drink in my opinion, but there’s nothing foul here. There’s a surprising burn that builds the more you drink. The appearance is like pink grapefruit juice. This would be good in a soup.
RSJX (1), Waco, Texas, USA does not count Sep 27, 2008 Budweiser w/ Clamato so delicious! It makes me tempting to drink Cheleda more! I loves it! beerbill (1312), Laurel, New York, USA Sep 21, 2008 24 oz. can. I saw this in the store a couple of weeks ago and picked one up to enjoy during a football game. So, today is the day and out it came. Pours a cloudy watermelon pink with a fizzy, large-bubbled pink head that disappeared before the first sip. The aroma is very mild clamato juice (tomato, clams and some black pepper) and not much else. The flavor is again mostly clamato, although it is a bit stronger than in the aroma. I like clamato juice, so this is not an unpleasant beer for me. This is not something I would drink every day, and I probably won’t be buying another can anytime soon, but it is not foul or horrid either. Slipstream (392), USA Sep 15, 2008 I can see this is getting pretty lousy ratings - so don’t throw things at me, please, but I liked it, and consider it to be one of Anheuser Busch’s best products. It is based on a Mexican way of enjoying beer. I have tried lagers before with hot sauce and lime and salt, without enjoying them very much, but the addition of clam juice and tomato makes it a lot better. The salmon-coral color gives it a look like soda pop or guava juice, and the head disappers immediately. There is a hint of tomato in the mainstream lager aroma. This is a salty, tomato dominated beverage that seems more like a Bloody Mary than a beer, but the flavor is surprisingly good - tomato sweetness and citrus plus a little hot sauce mixed with mild lager. The aftertaste is spicy with a touch of fish. This makes a nice change of pace brew. bearlybrewed (14), Colorado, USA Sep 11, 2008 Actually I do not drink A-B products, however I found this rather tastey one hot day when I had nothing else in my beer fridge (my neighbor’s cleaned me out). I love the taste of tomato, lime, and clam juice so this beer is not too bad although light. rkuhnel (1135), Eureka, California, USA Sep 8, 2008 When I was young I used to mix bad beer with tomato juice, and it seemed OK. But this seems like something different. Is it the lime? Really vile tasting stuff, this is, and poured a yucky pink with no head. Mouthfeel is medium, and the flavor is of tomato and lime, with no sense of being beer. Very salty and kind of makes you sick to your stomach.
