2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20 cheap (3374) - Cheap Lager in Western, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 11, 2013
OK, as an engineer, I like punching in a number to search for this stuff, every beer should have anumber on the label to search by. Decent pour and whoever, said this was a dark lager is so funny, ignorantly funny. Yes quite smooth out of the botlle. Nice thin creamy head makes it fairly attractive. Good over all taste impressions, smooth and goes down easy. Reminds me of bud poured right out of the tap into a styrofoam cup, yep has that arome, clean and crisp, no ill olfactory. You would not know this is over 5%, hides the alky well. Yes, smooth easy and well behaved, has manners and it will be easy for any lager lover to drink. Good overall beer drinken experience. A little more sharp than the 91406, heheh, but just as mannered. Theser are slight variations on the same style. CO2 is present and much appreciated. Finish almost has a hint of banana in it. Does come across as mild as many wheat beers.
2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 coldbrewky (1317) - Hippetown East, New York, USA - JAN 11, 2013
Bottle via Ralf and Andrea. Its so cute that they are naming the beers in this series after the zip codes of their breweries. Way to make yourself unique guys. Again in the commercial description they are telling you everything you need to know without tasting it. An old dog attempting to get hip. No bourbon nose or hint of taste. I am guessing that they used one barrel stave per fermenter. I’ll give em decent color, but that’s it. When they say a "Hint" of vanilla bean, does that mean they actually threw one on the recipe sheet and not in the batch? This was total crap dressed up as something "special" I wonder if these guys have ever had the Goose island bourbon stout from their own company. In the immortal words of Homer Simpson...."You tried your best and you failed miserably....the lesson is...never try."
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 nuplastikk (3276) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - JAN 10, 2013
American dark lager? The bottle says it is a light amber lager, which it is. Whatever. Filtered, terrifying internal carbonation, steady head. A little too bubbly, but pretty decent too. The more I sip on it, the more I think Cream Ale. Vanilla, some unoffensive corn, caramel. Never outright sugary or sticky, a little too thin, something other beers could benefit from, but not this one. Tastes like vanilla Michelob. Really lacks depth.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 ronaldtheriot (781) - Laplace, Louisiana, USA - JAN 8, 2013
Budweiser Batch No. 23185 has a thick, foamy, off-white head, lots of splotchy lacing left on the glass, and a clear, yellow appearance, with red highlights. The aroma is subdued, but one can pick up some spicy, white bread and sweetness. Flavor is of white bread, fruit, vanilla, wood, and there is a slight hop bite at the end. Mouthfeel is light and watery, and Budweiser Batch No. 23185 finishes crisp, clean, refreshing, and dry. Overall, this an interesting beer, and I think one should check it out. RJT
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 Maltser85 (32) - Fargo, North Dakota, USA - JAN 6, 2013
This beer pours a nice amber color with a robust white head that quickly dissipates. The nose on this one also smells of grain with a hint of dms… although it is slightly sweeter with a trace of vanilla. The taste on this beer has the faintest taste of bourbon and more of vanilla. There is a nice caramel taste to this beer. Ultimately though, it tastes like a lager. Just more of an amber lager.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Capa (1905) - Manama, BAHRAIN - JAN 4, 2013
This is what you buy on Christmas Day when you are in a no mans land of good beer and the only thing open is a gas station. Clear, light copper with a small and quickly dissipating head. Sweet malty aroma, light chocolate, and caramel, too. Flavor is malty. Light chocolate malts, and a bit of molasses. FInish has a bit of bready malt and sweetness. I’m surprised at how not terrible it is. I have had worse beers from better breweries.... Still, not a lot going on and mostly just sweet malts. Eh.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 Onslow (923) - Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA - JAN 3, 2013
Pour from a 12 oz bottle. Clear amber brew with off white head. Aroma of sweet malts, vanilla, a little toffee and a little burnt odor like charcoal or ash. Taste is sweet malt with vanilla at the start, a little dry hops in the finish. Something a little misplaced about the hops that gives it a somewhat off putting bitterness at the end. A lingering sweetness after the swallow. High quality brew like most AB products, enjoyable and a little different from the standard lager.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 XmnwildX12 (1472) - Farmington, Minnesota, USA - DEC 28, 2012
Has some trashy vanilla notes, super light golden color. Taste is some watered down corn, not much vanilla and no bourbon.

1.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 nick76 (4077) - Tampa, Florida, USA - DEC 23, 2012
UPDATED: DEC 26, 2012 The aroma is a tad grainy with some sweet caramel and bread. The hops are herbal. The appearance is deep gold with a slight soda appearance but does not seem very dark or amber. The taste is like the aroma with an off putting mineral quality. The palate is thin. Overall not much to like here. Thanks to Palidor for the rating anyway!

A light flavor, with a slight background of vanilla. Focus on the light crisp flavor instead of rich ale flavors. Still it's very drinkable.
