COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The beer was first brewed in St. Louis by brewmaster Jim Bicklein and was developed in collaboration with brewmaster Katie Rippel from Fort Collins, Colo. ďThe original Budweiser brewery is, of course, here in St. Louis, so we wanted to honor our brewing heritage with a beer that uses ingredients that German immigrants, like our founder Adolphus Busch, would have used when they came to the United States,Ē Bicklein said. ďIn this pilsner we use the same types of Hallertau and Tettnang hops commonly used in St. Louis during the late 1800s.Ē

Pours a pale yellow with a nice small well retained head and some spotty lacing on the glass.

The aroma is doughy, herbal, a little metallic, and sort of faint.

The flavor is sort of spot on as far as what the basic idea of Bland, Unoffensive, American Pilsener ought to be like... or at least in my head. There is no mistaking that this hardly enters "Pale Lager" territory, but itís doing what a pale lager does well in a crisper lightly hoppier format. The hop character is noticeably fruity & the malt character is crisp. The bitterness level is very low for the general notion of Pilsner, but for an American one itís by all means light and spot on. This to my amateur palate is a beer well made, many of the things I donít like about Budweiser are omitted here and have their place taken by more pleasant flavors. But thatís not saying itís an exciting beer, or even a really good beer. It is at itís best refreshing and basically clean. Honestly when Iím drinking beer, those two things can go a very long way for me. I would drink this again... but I could find something cleaner, more refreshing, and more flavorful just as easily as I could find this again, so itís not as though itís something I would ever seek out.

12-oz. bottle into a pint glass at my house on Dec. 4, 2012 (purchased the 12-pack for $12.99 at the 7/11 near Allied Gardens (San Diego) on Dec. 4, 2012. Honey golden (but almost amber) with about one finger of bubbly white head that dissipated at an above average rate. Hardly any retention. Smelled sharp whiff of alcohol up front, giving way to pilsner malts. Got honey, corn, hay and even a bit of caramel. Tasted a little more bland and watered down than I anticipated after the smell. Got light honey malts and thatís about it. Some light corn and grass. Light body. Thin texture. Average-to-above average carbonation. Abrupt watery finish. Started out so well, but fizzled once it hit my lips. That being said, it was better than a Bud Light of a Budweiser. Nice change of pace.

It poured a dark golden color with an off-white head. The aroma was clean with touch of pale malt and a little light noble hop. The taste was bready and sweet. Decent.

Medium golden , sparkling pour - little to no head. Aroma is pretty much neutral, hints of grain. Flavor is pleasant, hints of honey sweetness, some baked bread, just hint of vanilla. Mouthfeel is clean and crisp. Decent and refreshing

Out of the three Budweiser Project Twelve beers Batch 63118 looked most at home in a classic Budweiser 6.5 ounce tap room glass. Not much in aroma, however the Halletau and Tettnang hops were right on. Drinkable Pilsner @ 6% ABV packs a bit of a punch.

12 oz. bottle, thanks Poisoneddwarf- Pours rusty orange with a thin white head that reduces to a collar. Aroma smells grainy, a little spicy pepper, but very thin. Taste is the same, grainy and pretty flavorless, boring. Body is thin and carbonation is high. Simple, drinkable, and very uninteresting.

12 ounce bottle from Total Wine West Richmond, VA. Pours a clear golden color with a large foamy white head. Good head retention. Aroma of grain, corn and floral hops. The taste is sweet grainy malts, corn, grassy hops. Thin-medium bodied.

Pours a clear yellow with a very thin, quickly dissipating, head. It has a very pronounced aroma of sweet creamed corn. The taste is of very sweet malt, mostly corn, with a slight touch of hops at the end before returning to corn. Not that good, way too sweet and corny - almost like an ice beer.

Tasted from a 12oz screw-top bottle into a tulip glass. It poured a crystal-clear deep golden color, creamy white foam with lace. Nice. Very nice aromas of sweet malt, caramel, mildly flowery/resiny noble hops, faint peppery yeast phenols. Surprisingly delicious aromas. The flavor however, was horrible: rough, metallic, mushy cardboard, flat, oxidized, tomato sauce, solvent, as bad as any gas station malt liquor youíve ever had. Iíve never experienced a beer where the aroma and the flavor were so opposite. I canít even comprehend it. They just canít help it, can they? Just canít let themselves make a good beer.

Poured from 12oz bottle, pours a light gold with a thin bubbly head, aroma is of bread with a slight amount of fruit, the flavor is pretty bland overall, crisp finish with a little bit of bread and cracker in it, light on the hops, meh, drinkable.
