Re-rate: I wanted to do a back to back today between this and Miller High Life (I am bored). This brew pours from the bottle a sparkling pale golden. The 45 second average sized head is white and frothy and has piss-poor lacing. The nose is so clean and neutral it is almost undetectable. I got a hint of yeast and perfume. The sweet light flavor is somewhat cloying and very very shallow. The sweet finish is gone in the blink of an eye. The light watery palate is very fizzy and finishes slightly dry. Doesnít hold a candle to Miller High Life for someone on a budget. *Original Rate 2/28/02 5-1-2-1-7; 1.6* This is what you drink when they have nothing else on tap ícept Bud Light. I almost laughed when I poured this, it had the appearance of a yellow orange champagne. íTHE KING OF BEERSí this is not. A quickly diminishing small frothy head. Looked like it belonged on a cappucino. I tasted a hint of something, it might have been malt. I tasted mostly bubbles. Little irritating bubbles.

Itís Bud - nothing more, nothing less. A good party and concert beer. Itís quantity not quality where this beer is concerned. Most can go through a 12er of this like a fish through water.

Yuck! Watered down - too much carbonation - just plain yuck! If Iím going to go with a mainstream light beer, Iíll turn to Corona. Bud is just nasty and a waste of your time.

Nasty solventlike aroma and taste dominates simply because it has no malt or hop characteristics to speak of.

Serves its purpose - whether youíre at a ballgame or an all-day concert event, this will get you through it nicely. No need to describe it since most already know.

Head is initially small, fizzy, white, fully diminishing. Body is clear light yellow. Trace aroma (some grain and DMS). Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly bitter, lightly acidic. Light to medium body, watery texture, fizzy carbonation. Sweet seltzer with a gentle whisper of cooked vegetables for its bouquet.

Look, I like it, ok! Donít knock me for it. There is that common notion that American beers that are mass produced arenít worth a damn, and although this is kind of true, I think that Budweiser still makes a decent product. A little hopsy with a kind of rice flavor, this beer is always a good thirst quencher that never dissapoints me at a ball game. Nothing too distinctive about it, but it is NOT a bad beer.

Standard american bland lager, not as horrible as bud light, but not that much better either
