UPDATED: MAY 20, 2003 Budweiser is the King of Beers like Michael Jackson is the King of Pop - definitely a beer past its prime and out of style in today's microbrewed times! This beer isn't all that horrible! Adjuncts, yes, but it's drinkable. The rice and loads of water thin out the taste, somewhat. Too fizzy!

"No one ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American public" said the great Baltimore sage H.L. Mencken. Budweiser is material proof of this quote. What amazes me is how AB owns the market lock, stock and barrel. For this, their marketing staff have to be given credit, for how can such crap be so well received. One thing is certain........they donít drink this swill. It is the best con job since knotty pine paneling and Bose speakers. In my rural area, all rednecks drink only Bud. Bring something else to the party and youíll be severely ridiculed or possibly face violence. Offer another lousy beer or a quality one, its all the same. It is like religion or patriotism gone real ugly. This doesnít speak well of my locale, however I know the same is true elsewhere. The "10 oz" Bud is the local favorite. They think it has a superior taste to the 12 oz can. Rednecks and blue collar folks deserve better, but then again maybe they donít. Iíve seen mention on this website of Bud being a cheap beer. I donít find it very cheap really, but maybe demand is so high here that it is priced accordingly. Interestingly, if you talk to old-time beer drinkers theyíll tell you that they wouldnít piss on Bud in those days.
