COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed and sold since 1876, "The King of Beers" is the largest-selling beer in the world. Budweiser has been the world’s best-selling beer since 1957, and is distributed in more than 70 countries. Budweiser leads the U.S. Premium beer category, outselling all other domestic premium beers combined. In fact, one in almost every five beers sold in the United States today is a Budweiser.

Guess it’s time to rate the "King of Beers", the "true American beer" whose brand name was conveniently snatched from the Czech Republic with the rise of the Iron Curtain after WW2. Oh well - history aside, this is perhaps the most famous lager beer in the world and an appropriate milestone in my continual odyssey into commercial pale lagers (mostly for the sake of my acquired rating obsession, as there’s no way I’d otherwise drink that many crappy beers). Pours a classic pale lager body with lively carbonation and a thin, white head. My nose gives me the dreaded (in my book) cooked vegetables, corn syrup and sweet malts. Taste is pretty standard lager beer; some malt sweetness backed up by a low-impact hop tone. Pretty well tuned, and not at all as cooked-veggie-or-wet-cardboard-tainted as I’d expected, although there is a bit of it in the aftertaste. On average, it’s pretty low in taste throughout, and lives up to the cliche of being like "making love in a canoe"... :-P Boring stuff, but produced with enough professionalism to avoid the pitfalls of many cheap lagers, which actually taste bad. This is just refined blandism. But "King of Beers"? GTFO. "King of Sales" (due to poor taste and propaganda exposure in the general population) would be a more appropriate slogan.

At least it has more flavor than Bud Light... Easy to drink, but tastes like water...

Amazing! Not really. Pours golden yellow with aromas of ceral and grass. A slam beer.

Bud is an American classic. It’s as thick and rich as a cheap beer can get. It extremely filling--guaranteed to feel bloated.

12 oz can. A light yellow gold, with medium creamy white head. The head lasted almost till the end of the can once it was poured. Not distinctive in taste, but not repulsive at all. It lacks that overly sweet taste of many American mass produced lagers. I was not overly disappointed with this bee, but I can not understand why it sells so well.

Bottle: Chilled down to 34 degrees, then poured into a chalice. Pours gold with a nice, frothy white head that sticks to the sides of the glass. The coldness of the beer actually made the chalice sweat a bit, adding to the aesthetic pleasure of the appearance. Smells initially of corn, some dry rice elements, touches of a stray hop or two, some sweet, malty notes. As the beer warms slightly, the familiar hint of spicy skunk common to this style starts to creep in a bit. Tastes crisp, with some mild fusel elements, hints of bitterness, some sweet appley hints, some more of the familiar perfumy skunk. Perfectly inoffensive.

It has to be a hot day and the beer has to be cold to make this one work for me. Little aroma or taste and an unattractive appearance. A trainer beer at best.

Bottle from the "Damm" at Barcelona Spain. Very light yellow color. Small, very small, almost no head. Disappears ver quick. Weird, unpleasant smell,Spices, even garlic? and some citrus. Taste... almost nothing... Drinkeable, that’s it...
