COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
When we first tasted Amaya Roasting Company’s coffee, it was love at first sip. Their thoughtful approach to flavor theory & dedication to crafting the perfect cup inspired collaboration. The name pays homage to the Sunset Coffee Building, perched on the banks of the Buffalo Bayou in 1910. Back in the day, it was one of the first places to import & roast the coffee that fueled our great city’s early pioneers.

Pours a dark, nearly black brown with a beige head. It has a chocolatey coffee aroma. The flavor starts off strong espresso complimented nicely by the lingering bitterness of the hops.

Pours a dark brown with plenty of tan colored head. Some light pine, roasted coffee, roasted malt, and bread on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes with more roasted flavors, almost a burnt aftertaste.

Extra from cloaker-thanks! Was expecting something along the lines of Stone Dayman here not knowing anything about this beer, so was surprised to see it was a black IPA. Pours translucent copper dark brown with a ton of slow fading foam. Nose is nice coffee and not much else. Flavor is dark roasted malts, some bitter hops, and light roast coffee. Solid and not overly gimmicky.

Black pour with a tan foamy head. Big earthy roasty coffee and a strong animal hay. Big roasty flavor with strong bold coffee and smokeiness with some black malt and burnt coffee to finish. Tasty and complex. A wee bit of a chore but it’s not astringent or unpleasant. Pretty earthy with plenty of coffee.

Draft. Black with a small tan head. Very cold so not mix nose. Flavors bounce off the tongue with coffee and toffee up front. Burnt malts on the end. Body is a little chewy with a nice solid finish. Well done.

Bottle says it was bottled 9 months ago but I just bought it...uh oh. Pours jet black with fizzy tan head. Smell is acidic coffee. Roast malt, fair amount of yeast and light hops. Taste is roasty, hoppy but not too much so. Bitter coffee and charred malt flavor with a bright metallic like hop flavor peeking through roastiness. Medium full body and very prickly carbonation. Alcohol is hidden well.
