Smells like a ginger snap but better. Some chocolate in the aroma as well as a little alcohol. Tastes like an alcoholic gingerbread cookie. Warming finish. Much better cold. Don’t let it warm too much.

Wax bottle. Wow, is this ever about the gingerbread! Boozy and full bodied, and although I like gingerbread the spices get a bit overwhelming.

Bomber from Secret Santa. Thanks! Pours dark brown with a thin tan head. Fair head retention. Aroma of ginger, other spices, mild roast. The taste is strong ginger, almost spicy, and mild roast, Medium bodied. Solid, but a little off-balance. Slight booze.

Black pour with a persistent light khaki head. The aroma is deep and absolutely wonderful, like chocolate chip ginger snap cookie dough. The taste, however, has far too much spice--loads of ginger and allspice, though with a nice calm sweetness of chocolate, roast, molasses, and bitter herbal tones. Wish it had less spice.

Tap at Candelaris and brewery. What a treat, beautiful bouqet of warming spices. Upfront silky texture with a luxurious quality. Like driving a Bentley with my tongue. Ginger stands out, just enough, balances with brown sugar, all spice, nutmeg and faint yeastyness. Folds nicely into a sweetness that is expected and desired. Coffe undertones suggest bitterness and hints of cocoa with traces of vanilla. A solid brew guys!

Aroma is spicy, gingerbread. Flavor is similar to start, but finishes with some stout roasted bitterness.

Bottle... Pours black with a small, creamy, off-white head. The aroma is every bit as good as that of Hardywood’s Gingerbread Stout – ginger snaps in a big way. Medium-bodied and oily with gentle carbonation. The flavor is dark, singed and bittersweet with a generous measure of gingerbread goodness. Carbonic, burnt, ginger snap finish. I’m impressed. Bottle shipped my way by Rosebud butternuts!

Bottle shared by Dan at the Pig. Poured into snifters. Mostly black with a thin off-white head. Aroma of gingerbread, other "cookie" spices, roasted nuts, and bread. The taste was very much the flavor of gingerbread but the body was very light. A novel beer but not really my favorite.

Draft - Clove, ginger and cinnamon. Jet black with a thin head. Molasses, clove and ginger with a roast finish. Sweet and spicy, but a bit over the top for my tastes.
