was not a bad stout, but the spices were too up front and kinda trampled everything else about it. decent not great though.

Bottle - Pours black with a tan ring of head. Lots of ginger on the nose, with some close and...well, really not much else. Taste is the same--lots of ginger and close, with some cinnamon notes and, well, I guess some stout under there. Holy balls, it’s like someone dumped a bottle of ginger in a stout. Pretty thin, with limp carbonation. Baffled at the high ratings on this one. I felt it was a ginger bomb.

Wow, i was hesitant on paying the $13.00 price tag for this at first but glad i did; strong aromas of Gingerbread, chocolate texture, pours solid black with a small cocoa colored malty head. Very pleased with this offering from buffalo bayou.

FROM NOTES: October 16, ’13. Poured from a 22 oz. bomber into a snifter. A: HOLY gingerbread, Batman! More gingerbread flavors and nutmeg with a hint of pine and some toasted malt. A: Pours almost black with a two finger tan head. T: Follows the nose with gingerbread flavors, then some roasted malt notes, along with chocolate, coffee, toasted malts. HUGE cinnamon and spice flavors leave it a bit unbalanced, but still fairly enjoyable. P: A smooth, medium to full body with a low carbonation, but not under carbonated at all. O: I enjoyed this beer but the extremely strong spice makes one or two for the holiday season plenty for me.

Bottle:   Black, moderate frothy beige head, nice lacing.   Assertive gingerbread on the nose, softer roasted malts and clove.   Smooth, spicy, gingerbread dominates.   Soft roast, with a little bit of clove on the backside.   Not heavy, but smooth.   This is like drinking a gingerbread cookie!   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Yeah, finishes with gingerbread.   A little simple, but clean and certainly more gingerbread like than I think any other beer I had.   Would make a great Christmas beer to share with friends.

Bottle, huge thanks to my friend Sam for this one! Dark brown, nearly black pour, small bubbly head. Nose brings beautiful authentic gingerbread character, with molasses and touches of earthy bite thrown in. Not quite one-dimensional; gingerbread is all you think, but you can taste more. Pretty delicious, and surprisingly drinkable, dangerously close to thin, for 10%. Still, nice!
