5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20 SPDickerman (698) - Texas, USA - MAR 8, 2012
Pours pitch black with a large, creamy, tan head. Smells strongly of ginger with subtle cocoa and bready notes. Taste is exactly like chocolate gingerbread; that really is all that can be said, it’s sweet and a touch spicy. Medium-to-full bodied with a velvety texture and soft mouth-carbonation, Buffalo Bayou Gingerbread [Imperial] Stout finishes sweet that fades to ginger spiciness after a while.

Mmmm, if their Chai Porter wasn’t quite to my liking, this most definitely is. Solid chocolate and roasted malt base with a generous sprinkling of gingerbread spice. Naturally it’s a bit sweet so make it a liquid dessert.

Black with a solid light brown head that laces nicely. Aroma of gingerbread, obviously, cinnamon, chocolate and roast. Taste is sweet gingerbread and chocolate cookies; rich, sweet and dessert-like. Medium-full bodied and creamy.

On tap at Texas Beerfest. Pours a dark brown with medium tan head that diminishes rather quickly. The aroma is cinnamon and brown sugar. Thin mouthfeel with a sweet roast and cinnamon with light dry finish. Easy to drink a very impressive Spice from Buffalo Bayou.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Crispy34 (156) - Texas, USA - MAR 28, 2013
Draft. Aroma is ginger bread with a little booze. The appearance is black with a lasting tan head. The taste starts out ginger and spicy then rolls into a dark malt and finishes a coffee, pumpkin spice. The palate finishes a dry dark. Overall, a good, sturdy stout that I would buy again fo sho. Well done.
