An IPA with jaggery (basically fancy brown sugar), coconut and Thai chilies? Sounds outstanding! Unfortunately something got lost in translation. Points for originality but not something I’d want to drink again, at least in this formulation.

On tap at Texas Beerfest. Pours a jet black with small tan head that diminishes quickly to nothing. The aroma is pepper and coconut. Medium mouthfeel with a smokey flavor and coconut with a spicy finish. Easy to drink a very good black IPA from Buffalo Bayou.
