Suppose I,m not use to pumpkin beer, first for everything. Dark red in colour with small white head which disapated quickly. Aroma of cloves and cinimon. Unusal taste, now I know why I do not like pumpkin!!!

UPDATED: JAN 22, 2007 I would call this Holiday Spice Ale and not Pumpkin ale. The Pumpkin flavor is totally overwhelmed by the spice mix. It really seems more like a spiced hard cider and not a beer at all - calling it an Amber style Ale is really misleading as it shares nothing with true Amber Ales It is very tart the pumpkin is present, but not in the starring role. Clean and orange colored. A little too carbonated as well. Interesting ale to share over Thanksgiving meal, but not much other uses for it.

1st time that I’ve tried a bottle of pumpkin ale. I saw a lot of different varieties of it on the shelf during the fall. It poured and looked exactly like ginger ale. Lots of fizzy carbonation and a fizzy head like soda. Aroma was of all spice, cinnamon and nutmeg. Flavor is all spice and pumpkin. Aftertaste is lingering sweet and more all spice. This one is too sweet for my liking. I doubt that I’ll try it again.

This beer pours very little head and what’s there dissipates quickly. It is very light and refreshing with some sweetness and obviously pumpkin, but very mild doses of both and an even more subtle hint of cinnamon. It finishes clean. By itself it was underwhelming but I can imagine it would be great paired with spicy food or on a hot day.

[2007 bottle...oops] Pours a murky rust color with very thin sudsy off-white head. Bubblegum and Toothpaste aroma, fruity with some pumpkin and nutmeg. A very light beer with some chalky pumpkin, bubblegum, cinnamon, clove and nutmeg, and very weak malt. Gritty mouthful, light bodied.

The beer that jump-started my intense hatred for pumpkin beers, a hatred that culminated in the great projectile vomiting incident of 08 involving Southern Tier’s Pumking. This beer sucks chocolate salty balls.

Hazy watery amber color with a small white head. Aroma of mace and allspice. An unusual spicy bland taste.

A clear amber colored beer. With a strong aroma of pumpkins, cinnamon, nutmeg and alcohol. Taste is pumpkin pie all the way. Slight carbonation to compliment the pumpkins and spice flavors. Overall this is just one big pumpkin fest. There's absolutely no complexity to the beer. I've never been a big fan of pumpkin pie and I'm definitely not a fan of pumpkin ale.

Drinking this beer makes me want to get a bio-engineering degree and create a bacteria that will rid the world of pumpkins. Buffalo Bill's Brewery? It should be called Buffalo Bill's Cowpies.

Smells of pumpkin, spices, rubber and vomit...seriously. Tiny, fizzy head with bubbles filling the glass. Rich, amber color and, at first taste, not so bad. Full, spicy flavor...can definitely taste the pumpkin and pices but the aftertaste is RANK! Like "chewing on a pen" said one friend. Glad I tried it, but ewwwww. Not again.
