An amber style ale, originally brewed by George Washington, brewed with fresh roasted pumpkins, malted barley. Cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg are added. Bottled form is brewed under contract by Portland Brewing Co.

Gross. Loaded with pumpkin pie spice - overdone and doesn’t work in beer. The pumpkin flavor is fine but leave the spices out. Chemically as well - probably due to the spice interactions with the malt. Otherwise very nice orange-copper color.

Too much pumpkin pie spice killed this potentially good brew. I had New Holland’s Ichabod the same night and it was tremendously better than this.

WOW!! first pumpkin beer I have had. Aroma jumps right out at you with cinnamon and cloves and I can see those little red hot candies that I used to get as a kid!! Bottle poured a cloudy gold with a small head and good lacing. This is a cool beer to get once in a while for friends to try but I dont think I would be getting it very often,, not bad, but WOW!

I have to disagree that the taste wasn’t overwhelming with pumpkin. I could anticipate the pumpkin from the aroma and it was very strong on my opinion. I did not like this beer because the pumpkin was too strong.

The smell is pretty bad, so it starts off weak. The taste is ok, but nothing really happening in it for me. The pumpkin is very heavy and at the front if you like that style. Much, much better fall beers I would have before this one again.

An ordinary pale ale, with an orangey color, and some actual flavor of pumpkin as well as spices added to pumpkin pie -- allspice, cinnamon, nutmeg. The sweetness of the spice clashes with the hoppier than average, flatter brew. The effect fails completely. The pumpkin flavored beer might have some chance with a sweeter, less hopped brew. Points for the orange color and an E for effort.

Decent copper color, light head. Strong spicy aroma allspice, and cloves. Taste is awful. Horrible spiciness runs rampant over any malt background that may be there. Tastes like sucking on a spice bag after having steeped it in something. The question is can the finish redeem this beer??? The finish is pure acid reflux, no kidding. Absolutely foul terrible beer.

Pumpkin pie spice over a fairly sweet caramely malt base. Not my cup of beer.

Orange with decent head. Very weak aroma of pumpkin and spices. WAtery feel, and mushy pumpkin flavor, cinammon and malt. No bitterness at all, empty finish. Not one that i would repeat.
