Inky with a prodigious khaki head in spite of several stage pour. Wonderful burnt sugar strong blueberry aroma; sweet up front palate then the bitter oily stout takes over in the finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Poured a 12 oz bottle into a pint glass. This Oatmeal Stout poured a poured a brownish color, produced a nice tan head, decent retention and it left a little lacing on the glass. The aroma consisted of fresh blueberries and roasted malt. Medium in body, ultra smooth and creamy. Foundation of roasted malt, blueberry, and chocolate. Overall, nice session beer, first fruit Stout that I have sampled, it was well balanced. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

I got this for a friend when he was in southwest Wisconsin. I traded him a beer since I never tried this but he did warn me about the huge head and he was right. These bottles probably went through a second fermentation because the bottle cap had a lot of force behind it and even with a slow pour there was 5 times more head than beer. The aroma is still sweet with malts and blueberries. There are some robust flavors mixed with sweet blueberries but this is way too yeasty and it almost has more of a Belgian texture. Oh well as least I got to try it, but I’m sure that this is not the way it is suppose to taste.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty vanilla and blueberry aroma. Roasted malty slightly bitter blueberry and chocolate flavor. Has a roasted malty chocolate and blueberry finish.

Barreras (969) - Diamond Bar, California, USA - MAR 21, 2013
Pours a black color with a blueberry stout aroma. Taste is slightly bitter, with an oatmeal aftertaste. This beer is a little thin, and lacks flavor. The pounds of blueberry seem to dull the beer.

Pours a black color with a purple hue with a light tan head that leaves good lacing. Smells of blueberry, oatmeal, chocolate, and roasted malt. Tastes of all the same things in the smell Mouthfeel is medium and chewy with great carbonation but a little watered down. Overall this had a good nose but fell a little short on the flavor end.

12 oz bottle: Pours black with a thin, tan head. Looks thin, little CO2, big bubbles. Aroma is sweet, some fruit (blueberry), big chocolate malts. Taste is sweet on the front and bitter on the finish. Bubbly and astringent but nice overall. Not too sweet but a little thin for an oatmeal stout.

Not the thick rich stout flavor I would expect from an oatmeal stout. It goes down without that full richness, yet the blueberry aroma and flavor are full and not artificial tasting. Overall a flavorful and comfortable beer for those final weeks of winter as you wait for spring.

Small bottle at Hops in New West. Okay then! A blueberry stout. Say what? Very dark, not quite black. The blueberry is up front, and it amazingly does seem like stout underneath. Couldn’t help noticing the tepid ratings. Not world class, but somehow I like it! 3.4.
